Sorry to hear that John, hope you get better soon. Heat is a real problem for me too as my mancave is a WW2 bunker with a 10" thick steel reinforced concrete roof which seems to store up all the heat from the day and give it off at night. Can't even open a window atm because a colony of wasps have decided to move into a crack just above the opening.....and even with the door open it's like a sauna. Just getting my excuses in early

Nice one, despite the heat. I thought i pipped Ross for Pole, but then he took off another half a second. I was happy though. Also it looked if GT was disconnected at qualy, but he was on top in the timesheets. Start was decent, slipping behind Ross. He had a blistering pace which i could not match. After a couple of laps Goldtop was on my case and he passed me easily when i missjudged one of the corners. From then on i was trying to maintain a good rhythm as i had no idea what tyre wear was gonna be like. Good to see some newcomers too! Welcome Ivan. P.s. hope to see you back soon John.

Well that was indeed a hot one Wasn't sure how quick my trusty 911 would be until I put a quali lap in. When I realised it was a bit quick I decided to leave and rejoin at the back (I know it causes problems changing cars in quali or I'd have opted for the Pantera). Anyway, had a nice start and managed to close up on Ross after a few laps eventually making my pass stick on the 3rd or 4th attempt. Pulled a decent lead and worked on my pbs, but then with 3 laps to go I crashed at the chicane losing my splitter and damaging my steering quite badly...went round left turns well, but not round rights which isn't much good at Silverstone Managed to survive until the end.....just

Yep, great fun again. The old fast turns of Silverstone works well with the older cars, and the straights helped the Mustang get up to speed. I was surprised after Dijon that the 911's were as quick as they were, as I figured Silverstone had a higher average speed.
2 more runs for me in the Mustang I expect, then i'll give something else a go :-)
No DC/CTD issues this race, which was a good thing.

We are moving to the Simbin lobby
The first event to take place in the Simbin lobby will be the GTC Hockenheim race on Monday 5th August.
To prepare for the switchover it is best if you make a new copy of your current GTL install (maybe call it Simbin GTL), change the content of the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT file to read thus: gtlsrv.race-game.com Start up your new Simbin GTL and register. If you reach the lobby try to enter the event entitled GTL Monday's - Here soon. The password is Simbin. And that's it.
Any problems please pm me.

I had expected to run the Alfa at this circuit but when I saw the times being produced by the other drivers I quickly realised that another strategy was in order and so took the Porsche instead. Which was a shame as the Alfa is a lovely car to drive but needs must. My usual race took place, good start then some offs which left me too far behind the lead pack to catch up. Had been passed by Ivan but managed to catch and pass him. Then settled down to some consistent time laps keeping Ivan behind me until his pace dropped off. Never had a hope of catching the lead three but happy to secure fourth and without a single disco. The remaining events start to look quite interesting now as they are nearly all fast circuits that could suit the Porsche/Boss Mustang. However the lead guys in the Championship only have a few drives left in these faster cars.

A better one for me - despite lack of practice. Was on a good way when I lost the car right after the chicane and slided into pit lane with high speed so I got a stop and go penalty which consequently dropped me around 20 seconds in front of Bill. Although I wasn't able to close the gap to the mcgr in front of me I could post a new pb and had some short but nice battles during the race with Ivan and mcgr. Ivan lapped me but I was able to pass him again Like this track - cu next week at Silverstone again
