A hat-trick for Hendy Nichols sees him mounting a Vettel-like comeback in the Privateers Trophy. Yeh TBA is the Libyan spelling of T1 Blew my engine twice. When I did get a lap in I put in a 2:55. Apart form that more spins than my last trip to the fairground... Managed to finish my last lap at 7mph after the engine blow which might just have got me ahead of Bernie.

Please note that Adam was automatically excluded because he took the Eagle but only had 15 tokens.

I didn't actually confirm the red zone Axel so it would be best to submit a report.

A very demanding track, you get a long time between turns to think about your brake point but there seemed to be very little margin for error, probably because the approach speed - 201mph in my Eagle. As anticipated the Eagle was the chassis of choice at this track - well done to those brave enough to take a different car. I was rather cautious lap 1 & lost a few places but picked them up again where the less cautious had incidents. When the race settled down I was in fourth which became third when Andreas went to far sideways in the last braking zone. Happy to have held on for the last step of the podium, I knew Jonny was faster than me but he ran out of laps near the end. Well done to Phil who was way in front when Hendy discoed. Also team mate Rainer for taking second. We go to Mexicio to see who takes the title.

I had a few problems with my PC which I didn't manage to sort out until there was only 8 mins of praccy left. There were some quick times being set and I was P6 when I started my last qually lap. Thankfully it was a good one (nearly 2 seconds inside my PB) which put me on pole. I saw David Rainier was down in 8th so I thought I might have a chance to claw back some points. I got a good start which I needed to keep the pressure on David. I saw an Eagle spin in my mirrors at T4 on Lap 1 and I never saw anybody after that (apart from lapping 3 cars later on in the race). I was surprised to see "Rainier" on my pit board at the end of lap 1. I needed a few cars between myself and David if I was going to stand any chance of winning the championship. I pushed on hoping to see a different name on my Pit Board but it was not to be. Congratulations David, a very fine race in the Honda. I thought you might have struggled with the Honda in the latter stages of the race because it generally cooks it's tyres. But you have been very consistent all season and once again you made no mistakes.
Pending moderation (I think you had a clean race so there should be no problems for you) that makes you champion. You already have 343 points so even if you miss the last race and score no more points I can only score 340 (assuming I win round 10) and Hendy can only score 329 (assuming he wins round 10). Congratulations, you are a worthy champion. You have driven consistently fast but most importantly made very few mistakes. Not easy in these 67 F1s!

I can ask why I was excluded?. In the previous race (dijon81), I run with a Brabham, I was allocated 15 tokens, and the Brabham, costs 10, I mean that I had 5 tokens for this race, the Eagle costs 17 tokens, and had 20 tokens (15 this race, and 5 of the previous race).

Wrecked twice in the first lap, accidentally hit escape instead of reset. Ah, well, at least it was over with quickly Grats podium.

You are not quite right Adam. You only get ten points per race so you had 5 tokens before the race and 15 once the race began. Eagle was just too expensive. Unfortunately you have used all your tokens as well so you only have 10 for Mexico. You had 5 at Dijon because you had taken the Ferrari. You start the season with ten and get ten for the race so the first race you get twenty, then -15 for the Ferrari, leaves 5. Is that clear?

I rather enjoyed that race! I found the BRM handled quite well around this track and its prodigious weight was less of a problem here than you might have expected. I had one "moment" when I put a wheel on the dirt at the tricky bottom gear right ( can we call that T1?? ) and the car came right round on me as a result. The only "victim" of this was Jonny-O ( I think) who was held up briefly but otherwise unharmed. Of more concern was the BRM's thirst - at the half way point I did some quick maths in my head and deduced that I hadn't put enough fuel in the car and thus spent the whole of the second half of the race in fuel saving mode, backing off and coasting into turns, changing up early coming out of them.... and it was juuuuuuust enough to get me home, the car misfiring down the home straight before cutting out completely to coast across the line!
All in all quite an enjoyable drive although not much of an actual race!

I made a good start (the only good thing I have to say about this track ) but somehow had a coming together with Francesco ? dunno how it came about , I had slotted in behind the car in front hoping to get a good tow down the fast bits and was holding my line so not to impede the other cars around me , suddenly Fran appeared across my bows (will let the mods sort that one) all came to 0 after a re set and subsequent pit in .
Finished with a very sick sounding Repco after reversing out of the hay bales for the umpteenth time and finally expired completely .
For me this track lacks a hard shoulder, a couple of hundred HGV's and some big blue and white road signs which read Birmingham 97 miles , Services 1 mile etc.
Grats to Phil on a a great drive and to Dave for the championship ?

We go to Mexicio to see who takes the title.
As written by Phil, the title should already be mine (if the moderator does not find anything against me ). I was only 8th on the grid and I thought it would be a hard race for me ...but I took a very good start (which is usually my poorest action during a race) and was 5 or 6 until the first braking zone : then I saw Hendy and another car spun and also Cookie who collided with another racer ! Then the race was easy for me, I knew I had no chance to follow Phil's Eagle and I just kept an eye on Andreas Ferrari but he also made an error. Congratulations Billy for this great result, Black Night racing team should be now a strong leader ! Grats to Phil also, which was dominating this race without any opponents Pity for Hendy, it's sad to lost all chances for the title in such a way. I think we will be all three (Phil, Hendy and me) racing with Works next season ...it will be another story !
