Results and Replay Posted

I need to tidy up the data a bit. Please could DRAGON (58?) create an account so he won't be "unknown" thanks.

Well I enjoyed it. I took meds front and rear on the capri, and it did get squirelly towards the end, some good dicing
with GT and Jules.  Grin

Grats to John for the champ win   thumbup2
Clive for 2nd place and a well earned 3rd for Kurt  clap

Hello, it's been a while.... but PnG is back on my PC. I've just done a handful of laps in the Porka & it felt good & my times were acceptable Lips Sealed

I thought I'd join the lobby to see if I could see the server, but when I clicked 'Internet' it asked for a "serial number". Now I would have just dug out my GTR2 disk & used it, but I've got a niggling feeling I'm meant to leave it blank? Please can somebody confirm & tip me off for any other pitfalls i may like to avoid?

Felt good to be behind the wheel & the even the Mrs (who was shocked to see me sat in my race seat) seemed pleased (she's probably had enough of sharing the tele Undecided) Cool

I had to use the on line code - serial number to get mine working.

Dragon was being naughty then. No matter he left early, hopefully he will join us for other events
Please read the race announcement carefully (Tony always does  Cheesy  ) particularly with these
PG3 cars where there are big differences between the years.

Matt, you will need to tell Dave that P&G3 now has a proper 70's class rather than a "Special" which was how P&G2 considered the Bonus 70's content.

Yep. Sorting out the classes is on my list of things to do, Dave helped with Adelaide, but I need to sort out the groups
and what cars are what for the new ones that weren't there in PG2

Perhaps also think about breaking that down into their categories e.g. Group 2's, Group 4's and IROC's. Be usefull if in the future you ran mixed group events.

These cars were brilliant fun around this track, even better when you have a superb battle.

Went with the BMW because it was fairly easy to drive, I haven't yet sorted the Capri despite doing a fair bit of practice in it & I'm usually carp in Porsches. Qually for the aborted race was a bit frustrating, did an average lap at the beginning & then kept messing up when being significantly faster. Was on for a mid 2.06 on one lap but spun with 3 corners left!  Roll Eyes

Went with the soft tyres as the wear rate was only slightly more than the mediums & they were over a second a lap faster. Rubbish start, far too much wheelspin, but thanks to the BMW's straight line speed I managed to get to the front on lap 2. John had already made his way through from the back of the grid & was soon into 2nd  Shocked. Now I'm not usually too good at driving under pressure but the Bimmer is so fast on the straights that I could afford to be a bit conservative in the braking areas & not push too hard & try to ignore the Porsche large in my mirrors in the twisty bits.

Seemed to work well & I held a narrow lead until about half distance when John had a minor off & gave me a 3.5s cushion. Gradually this got whittled down & with about 3 laps left John was right behind again. Last lap & I thought I had thrown it away when I ran wide onto the grass exitting the fast esses (Waite) only to look in my mirror to see John even further off the track  laugh. Finally had to negotiate Jules Porsche in the last couple of corners, sorry about the slight bump Jules, I know you were trying to keep out of the way. So just manged to cross the line first.

Thanks John for a great race & congrats also to Daniel in 3rd.  clap

I turn off the HUD and just use XD so ended up going on the green light in race one! Thank god we restarted because I entered sulk mode after that s/g  Tongue in the second restart I waited for all lights to go out and for someone to move!

Started 3rd and Dan in 2nd where we qualified anyway so that worked out  Smiley He ran wide in T3 so I ended up running a lonely 2nd, Geoffers pulling away in the distance. Over the course of the race, John flew through the pack and overtook me (great drive mate btw  Wink) and Dan soon did the same. I ran 4th for most of the race and out of boredom of being on my own I started making small mistakes and SuperSwift had caught up and then demoted me to 5th  Embarrassed  laugh

I've definitely noticed that after doing 7 lap sprint races on GC, it makes me realise I need to work on proper race setups for a 40 mins race rather than just putting mediums on a quali setup.

What happened goldtop in the 911? You were flying in quali and was waiting for you to creep up through the field!

Great track and grats to Geoffers and podium!  thumbup1

Was a bit gutted to miss out on this race. Sad pacewise looks like I would have been fighting in the top 5 so even more annoying to miss out.
Glad I got my p&g fix at gc Tuesday at least. Ah well will have fun in the iroc next week.

Early knock out for me due to a turner with subsequent slight crash into the barrier which
immediately led to 0% - damage seems to be a thing to be
improved in P & G V3.
Nevertheless great fun to drive these cars on this track, I felt almost competitve and hoped for
a new pb below 2:10.
Had a nice battle with Alex and Tony within sight, but ...

Confusing start of the first one. Got a stop&go and went into pits after first lap so I was able to continue.

Glad to finish this series in third - never hoped for that as still one of the slowest drivers in the field  Roll Eyes.
Was sure that Matt would be able to surpass on last occasion.

Thanks to all involved in organizing this series and congratulations to John and Clive.
Looking forward to next season.

Joined at the last moment on the server, just to be able to do 1 lap in Q but without a time => last place on the grid, so no big hopes.

I planned to take things easy during the first lap or so, but the green light itch really turned things around Shocked  Within 3 laps I found myself in 2nd position behind GoldTop, I think we were the only ones without a S/G or DQ. Good thing the server was restarted though.

Then with random grid in R2, I found myself at the first spot! That put some pressure on me and my Dutch blue 911 Roll Eyes
Start was good, but Geoffers beamer and the two 911’s of John and Purdie soon came close and passed me as I tried some “experimental” moves (too much pressure?).
Also, I’m no regular contender in this championship, so I didn’t want to ruin anyone’s race.

Then, as Purdie stated above, I too was in no man’s land and tried for several laps to lower my lap times, which went OK. The RSR really is a pure racing machine! In the end Purdie did some less consistent laps and I could just steal the 4th position from him.

Nice race guys, thanks for organizing.

See you next!

Great fun yesterday Smiley

Used my RSR setup from PnG 2.1 as I didn't have much time to tinker with a new one. It worked well enough but I didn't feel as at home in it as I did in the old version of the car. I was surprised by the lack of Capris on the grid, I'd given it a quick go beforehand and it was very fast. Was everyone put off by the brakes?

Got a great start from the back and made up most of the places by following Tony up through the order to T1. Good racing on the way up to P2, then tried to apply pressure to Geoffers but he was driving well. There were only a couple of places I'd have been able to get by, but wasn't close enough for most of the remaining laps. Annoyingly, the only time he made a mistake, I followed him off as well Cheesy Oh, for a few extra laps...

Grats to Geoffers for the win and Daniel for 3rd  thumbup1

Had the RSR going nicely in pracci and quali and was looking forward to a good battle up the front end in race. Was one of the few not to be caught out by the lights in the aborted race....I always watch for the countdown on the HUD precisely for this reason and then usually switch it off to use xd in once the race is underway. Restart was the only call with so many caught out though.

For restart I was right at the back with John, but unfortunately Mr. Dragon must have stalled (or fell asleep  Wink) and I piled straight into the back of him as John managed to swerve to avoid us  Hit with a wet fish Tried to chase back, but with slightly askew steering and handling a bit iffy I made too many mistakes. Had some good fun racing with Tony, Matt and Alex but wasn't able to take advantage of the RSR's speed in the corners thanks to some good defensive driving. At least I beat Jules  sweatdrop

On a less happy note, I seem to be suffering from mid corner graphics stutter  Sad I've had a play with nvidia inspector and lowered some of my ingame settings, but fear an upgrade will probably be necessary soon.

Congrats to the Soggies for the champ win. Hopefully the Kerbies will be making it a bit tougher for them in the next installment of this great mod  Cool
