Angry O Well a real Noob moment. Thought there was a warm up, left my Sim for a Quick leak and the race started DRAT,  DRAT, DRAT.
See you guys next week.

Bad luck mate.

You only get 30 seconds after qualify to get the car ready for the race, I got caught out by that before I think.

Was a really hard but extremely fun race for me.

Had a great start and for the first couple of laps was extending my lead then as per usual for me I cocked up a bit and locked up going into turn one and had to let most of the pack through then fought for the next 10-15 lap to get back to 1st then started to pull away but couldn't keep the pace I had up as my front tyres were starting to wear pretty badly at the end of the race I guess I only had 5 maybe 6 laps left on the left front.

See you next week guys.

Thanks.

I had that same noobish mishap at my first race some weeks ago.. Wink Better luck at the next one.

Had a nice first part of the race, but was afraid to push it really hard out of the corners and hang the tail out, so had to see the front three get away. After two spins it was all about getting it home.

Congrats to podium!

Results and replay now posted.

Could Rolf please fill the location part of his profile please. Then you get a little flag next to your name. Postal I'm aware of your problem but we won't be able to fix that till at least next week.

Thanks for turning out and making this a very enjoyable event.

Bad luck Kurt, I know the problem, when Virgin took over NTL they restricted band width at busy times.  So on race night I was getting ping in the 1000s with terrible lag.   Roll Eyes:'(  Now have good solid fibre optic line to BT distribution box with short distance to house.  Cool

New PB in practice and similar time in qualifying.  Made poor start, tried to limit wheel spin and let engine "fall off the cam".  oops Had nudge which put me off line, resulting in losing line and visit to barriers.  censored Driving became difficult, tried to adjust but after too many offs had to pit - just over 2 mins, so came out 2 laps down.  Had to satisfy myself trying to catch the cars in front.  rockon

Well that turned out to be a very enjoyable race; where were you Badblood? You missed a cracker.

Very close grid at the start with John just shading it for pole. Was caught napping at the start by the Escorts and lost loads of places. Top four or five broke away from the others and some close racing ensued. Unfortunately I ran out of talent and crashed resulting in my rejoining with a slightly slower car. Was never able to catch the lead group and after I made some shocking errors resulting in big offs Matt was able to catch me. Then had some real cat and mouse antics with Matt right up to the flag where he was able to pip me to the line. Nice to see some new faces and also nice to have a fuller grid than recent weeks. Just need some of our regulars to put in an appearance and we will be rocking.

Wot Tony said. There is something about these cars I am missing, I am way off the pace compared to my usual mid field
spot. Can't be just that the Escort is slow compared to the minis as others were doing ok in them

I might try the mini with Geoffers setup next time.

Did we have contact Bill? I wasn't aware of contact with anyone, though Tony and I were polishing each others paint
at times  If there was contact I am really sorry.

I thought that this track had more to offer the Mini than the Escort due to the number and type of corners involved.

I'm not sure that this will be the case at the next circuit in this series.

I'd given both cars a go in practice, and using Geoffers' now Legendary Mini setup, I was in the 1m21's with it.  Trouble was, I was only able to do a couple of laps at that pace before the front left tyre overheated, and I started to drop off in lap times (nothing to do with the set-up, just my poor FWD driving technique!).  Also, the front left wear looked like it might be high, so over 36 laps, I'd maybe never get to the flag without stopping.

With the above in mind, I went for the Escort, and even though I my best lap was 1 second slower with it, I felt over the race distance, it would be more consistent for me.

At the Green, it seemed like the Escorts had Nitro, as I moved up a few places.  Found myself in the lead for a bit after quickslilver went deep into T1 (Tarzan). His pace saw him get back into the lead after a few laps.   Once the race settled I found myself in P2, between the 2 yellow Mini's.  Rolf in P3 drove a great race, and was always in my Mirrors.

I'd hoped that the Mini's may drop away later in the race from having the possible front tyre wear that I anticipated, but their maintained their pace.

Great stuff though.  Shame for Mike with the warm-up misunderstanding,  I hope you can make it next time. With luck, if a colleague of mine sorts out his install, he'll get on the grid in a couple of the Monday series in the future as well.

Yes I was surprised to out qualify you and also put in a fractionally faster race lap.  Peeved at my start and you got ahead of me into first corner but I was able to drive the mini inside you and over took you.  Then I turned in too soon at that slow left hander and you came around me and we were fighting for the line into that slow right hander.  We were both aiming for the same spot and you sort of leant on me and I moved sideways (racing incident) and I couldn't brake to follow you without getting 2 wheels onto the grass and going straight on into the barrier.

Thx Ross  Smiley I thought in the last part of the race "Come on Ross make a small mistake and i can pass you" but you didnt  Wink It was a great race but the reason that i was so fast was the damn good setup for the Mini by Geoffers. Awesome feeling  Smiley

@ Wiltshire Tony
I did it already Tony with "Munich/Germany" if you speak about the board profiles.
