All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:40 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (24 laps)

Track: Empoli Download this

Cars allowed: Ferrari 250 GTO Download this, Ferrari 275 GTB/C, Ferrari 250 SWB Download this

Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk FERR
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

I had switched my data rate setting to cable/adsl for tonights race but still had a "Lost Connection". Real shame as I was having a great race with QS, who was very quick indeed. Postal and Syd were way up the road having their own battle by the looks of things.

Great race I had 1st after a misshap between postal and Syd I think but I made a mistake with 1 lap to go and postal got ahead but I was still pushing hard then on the last lap went off again. Grats Postal good race and grats to everyone who finished.

Well, thanks guys. That was fun Roll Eyes  Not going to be my favourite track, but still fun with these cars.

John had a much faster pace, so it was a suprise i could get through to P1 at first. Then i think i was holding up Syd and John a bit, but is was a nice battle though. To my suprise i was still in the leading pack mid race and having to ride all out to keep Syd at bay. After we had a little tangle, John was in the mix again and managed to grab the lead.

Suspected he would vanish into the distance, but i guess he had an off, because i caught up again with 2L to go. I had no answer to John's pace as he was on my case again within a lap. It needed another mistake on his behalf to maintain in the lead. You can imagine i was glad the race wasn't any longer. Grin
To bad the grid wasn't slightly bigger and we had some disconnects. Hope to see you all next week.

P.s. Tony, i did already fill in my nationality in my profile a week ago. You cant see it apparently? Or am i missing someting?
And i was connected with ISDN settings.

We should see a flag of nationality against your name in the results table. Possibly you didn't save your settings after changing profile?

Nope. I changed it a few times now. Doesn't want to cooperate so it seems.

Had better race than expected, managed to drive a consistent line without too many errors and reasonable pace.  Grin

Some comments on last night.

I have my connection to the server set at ISDN.  I have a good BT connection with a Ping of 33 for our server, almost consistent, in the lobby.

Edit: From here to Infinity - 37.9 Mb down, 8.7 up ping 12.  Hopefully shouldn't have any probs.

For the second consecutive race I've been kicked back into the Desktop with the GTL Icon minimised.  A couple of seconds after clicking the Icon I get returned to the race, luckily my car was rubbing along the Armco and was OK.  We'll see what happens at Goodwood with Real GTL dedicated installation.  Think it could be a Windows 8 problem - it often lies to me

Finally my G25 has started changing up instead of down occasionally - embarrassing losing engine braking and entering corner too fast in wrong gear.  Suggestions to cure it will be welcome - not able, these days, to do much fiddly work though.  wheelchair  Guess it could also be Win 8 problem too - upgrade advice from my computer man, which I regret taking.

Don't know why you went to 8 Bill. Do you have a touch screen or tablet?

Bad advice Tony.  Had a problem, called out my man who found out that Win 7 was contaminated and took a while sorting out.  He suggested Win 8 as a more stable system and that it was very good for gaming.  Like an idiot I took his advice and run computer like Win 7 - a cheap option as he was here and he wouldn't charge for time spent on fault finding and rectification.

Need complete start again for Win7 - can't face that.

I'll live with it.

Win 8.1 is available as a free bug and design fix of the abomination upgrade end of June
There is rumours that they might give the customers what they want for a change, instead
of what they want to sell you.
