Round 9: The Intermediates Trophy stays in Europe and gets glamorous. Monaco, home of the beautiful and a wonderful anachronism. We don't have to deal with the swimming pool but it is still pretty hard round here. No stopping for a beer at the Rascasse bar either - not on this version of the track. Mind you, I have had a beer there and it isn't the best bar in the world but the view is good. This though is the Papyrus regular - Monaco 1967. Monaco is a tight twisting circuit, with heavy braking into several low speed turns. Will drivers please take additional care & avoid any rash overtaking moves. This track is all about concentration & patience.

In line with the new handicapping system, only the series leader is currently chassis restricted. Nobody else has enough points. BT7 should go well here. Driver skill is the biggest factor but patience plays a big part too.

Handicapped Driver(s)Allowed Chassis
RonniepetersonBT7

Please check the Season 23 pages for details regarding rules and the Intermediates Trophy pages in particular.

Qualifying may start before 9pm, if so, Reserve drivers should leave the server when 35 minutes of qualifying remains and only rejoin when 30 minutes of qualifying is left. This is to ensure that Full Time drivers get priority in joining.

Please restrict chat to pit messages if necessary, and this includes the end of the race, until all running drivers have completed the necessary laps.

The Intermediate Trophy races are run under Int Long rules and all incidents in the Lap 1 red zone will be moderated and reported incidents for the rest of the race, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident. Drivers are reminded that they are limited to ONE Shift-R. The Red Zone will extend to the exit of Malmedy if your Moderator mixes up his posts - look below smart alecs!

Please ensure you are aware of the new in-series penalties for this season. Details are here. Drivers incurring a penalty will receive a PM informing them of this."

Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.

Sorry, I'm not gonna be able to make this one :-(

I'll be back for Monza, though it means I've only managed 60% of the attendance.  I'd hoped for more.

See you at Monza, and I'll be around for the new season for sure.

Yet another early bath.... this time taken out by a driver who you would normally expect to know better Sad
Not going to submit an incident report as this guy doesn't normally drive like a cock... I think he just made an exception for me out of his fustration at being bottled up behind my rather wide Lotus!
Pity really... I think a podium finish was on the cards Sad

Sorry Jason. With Monza in the BT7 coming next, this was my last chance to get some big points in the championship. Having said that I'm not here to ruin anyones race. It was a good scrap we had going on and a shame it ended in tears. My spin, my fault for driving like a cock as you say. No hard feelings from me if you do decide to submit a report. Apologies again.

Grats to Gareth and Norm.

BT7 or Cooper at Monza Ray. By my reckoning you need 4th or better if Gareth wins but he might not!

I will try and get the Moderation out within the week. It is important, obviously. Any incident ASAP please.

I think its a bit academic as Ray will poduim at worse, but erm, IF i can win and he finishes 4th we will both have 319. who wins then?

Yep - you are right Gareth. Ray needs a podium. If you end up equal you win by virtue of more 1st places.

I think the maths needs checking as 10th and 17 points should be enough to hold off Clutch, Gareth and Dave? Happy to take the Cooper or BT7 regardless. Also lets not pre judge any incident reports/moderation for the Monaco race.

Only your best eight count, as you scored in all rounds you drop your worst two, I will have only started 7 races so all my scores will count

Just a point on winning by virtue of more 1st places, should that be right? As Ray's points have been gained in a handicapped car, surely that should count in his favor if it came down to being equal on points.

i think the number of wins as a secondary deciding factor is traditional across most mostor sport, the issue here is the handicap is too much of a handicap at some tracks, there is no victory in beating someone around monza who's in a BT7, especially when theres a championship riding on it.

The handicap hasn't really worked that well. In retrospect, I think that the handicap should have applied from Race 2 (not Race 4) and that way you might have had a few changes in the lead - you could then abandon handicapping with two or three races to go.
