The first fun race of Season 24 we start at Watkins Glen.

The new format of the Heavy Iron series for the GT's and Can Am's gets a prelude - a double header fun race.
We will use an extra wide grid and do a standing start! The last 4 - 5 drivers will not see the starting flag!

We will run Intermediate Damage with the allowance of ONE shift-R reset. A Shift-R (fault or not) MUST be followed by a Stop & Go.

Can't make this, sadly, as I will be on the M3 to Winchester... driving that won't be nearly so much fun Sad

Try the Lola T222 ! I find it awesome, powerless but it stays on the track !

Great fun racing,
but a bit lonely at the front when Clive did not pass the "Moose test"  Tongue

As I read in the chat, pribluda does not work for everybody!?

I have uploaded my version (+ my ini file for OpenGL 1920x1080!)

had a lot of fun last night.. thanks all.

had a fairly decent run in the first race with the GT's . had tried some faster cars in practice but decided to play safe and took the Porsche.

did really good to miss the crash at the start and settled into a nice rythmn

was a bit of a mistake really as up against the other cars they are a bit too slow. I did though have a decent dice with Rainier for a few laps.

he passed me and I tucked in behind for a few enjoyable laps, could see his tyres appeared to be going off quicker than mine so was hoping to try and make a move on him.

got near one time but decided to play safe and not take us both out... backed off a bit and went into a spin.. OOPPSS !!!  laugh

all in all a good race and great fun.

The Can Am's though are a bit different to say the least.. took a Maclaren and loved it,  got a decent mid grid position for the start . i always qualify on unknown cars with a race setup with full fuel so I was happy.

made my way through the little scuffle at turn 1 and then only a little while into he race I was clipped from behind and went off.

I hope I never shut the door on anyone, if I did I'm sorry.  hope I didn't spoil anyones fun. angel

but other than that had a great time. Grin

one thing though?  is it me or whatever I try in the way of FOV whether its via Glpshift or Gem I cannot alter my field of view or move back enough in the cars to see my mirrors.

I have used the alternate mirror mips etc but still I'm struggling.

I'm hoping after the six months is up since the release of the can am mod that I can get some of the modded and floating mirrors I have seen on line.

P.S. is their a suitable mod for mirrors on the GT's Huh??

cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul, nice to have you on the track.
For a beginner with the GTs I suppose to take the Lola, as it has a very good handling and is more competitive on faster tracks.
To get some setups for the GTs you should look for Steve Cloyds setups in SRMZ.net, they helped me a lot to understand the cars better.
The virtual mirrors for GTs you can get here Wink
For the CanAms they are not yet officialy out....
