Screen blackout - three things come to mind. Timed event (such as virus scan), screen saver settings (unlikely) and power plan configuration set to blank out the screen after x mins. That has caught me out before.

Hi ,

couldnt make last night as had some family over.  60 laps was just too much for me.

I see it was reduced to 50, still too much for me though. still struggling a bit with being able to concentrate as needed for the longer races.

hopefully this will improve as i learn more of the newer tracks. having had a long layoff from GPL I have lots and lots of tracks to learn.

glad quite a few made it and hope you all enjoyed it.

I had tried a bit of practice over the last few days, must say I like Antree as a race circuit. I hope perhaps it might pop up during the coming season.

Ronnie - presume you regret your setup? Had great fun chasing you down, spinning, chasing you down etc a number of times, but you were so easy to catch because you didn't have the speed on the straight.

I'm a total noob in these F2 things and picked a car at random. Clearly the Ferrari 166 was the wrong choice!!!. I was a sitting duck for sure down the straights. Even with a tow I felt like I was going backwards. Still I enjoyed the race so thanks for organising Axel.

Yooo !
I choise to do one pit stop for fuel, but for that I must have a confortable gap ( thing possible  'cause lighter car ).....but I have to stop before the half of the race cause I'm out of fuel at this moment !!....Ihave enought time to do it but the track is not free  and I have to wait to do s-r......and when the track come  free I restart second ....then I know that I must do the 'forcing ' to joint Gareth....I reduced  the gap lap after lap and Gareth  under pressure make a mistake and I retake the lead .....but I have to pitstop again  ( F2'are glutton !! ).....so I do it and Gareth pass me again !!...still 10 laps to go , but I'm to far from the lead and I resigned myself to finish second.....still 4-5 laps to go and Isee Gareth pit-in !.....( it seems that I am not alone to have not enought fuel !).....then Ihave just to controle the few last laps ......thx everybody, was good fun Smiley

Your all heart Hristo.

One of the other reasons I was so slow was my heavy fuel load. I did not realise stops were allowed for refueling in the F2 championship. I have a lot to learn before the season starts!

Clive, was not me, i was well back, crap start and probably was the instigator to all the t1 crashes, so sorry to all for thatm do know who or what happened there, i hate f2 cannot get the car to do what i want and am slow gggrrrrr. last for about ten laps and lost my rear wheel on exit of last corner after a coll battle with bernie, could not be bother to take 2nd reset and called it a day, f2 is like 65, not imho.

Screen blackout - three things come to mind. Timed event (such as virus scan), screen saver settings (unlikely) and power plan configuration set to blank out the screen after x mins. That has caught me out before.

Mine wasn't any of those. I had some weird issue with the screen randomly (i.e., once every few days) going black yet audio continuing - this went on for months & I checked & replaced everything (hardware, software, drivers, virus, leads - I mean everything...) I did have suspicions that it was something to do with RDP & was testing to see if it only happened on the days when I used remote access to/from that PC. Very frustrating when it happened during a race & again strange as it was also only a temporary glitch - screen would eventually go back to normal of its own accord (to reveal me mashed up in some barrier Tongue). It was certainly some kind of graphics issue as I used to see weird error messages appearing in the Catalyst Control Center log - on checking these errors online it seemed a lot of people were experiencing exactly the same issue & yet it seemed nobody had found a solution Sad It was even more odd as I had an identical spec machine that never had these issues so I finally assumed it was the graphics card about to die. However just before forking out for a new one, I switched to Win 7 & hey presto, all black screen issues gone. I'm not sure Win 7 was necessarily the solution however the process of flattening my PC & installing a crisp fresh OS seems to have cured it. By the way, for me this random blackout issue would occasionally happen while browsing the net or playing other games too - I'm wondering if that's the same for Clive or is it only occurring during GPL?

Beware Tristan, it was a fun race so I don't think it has any importance ...but for the official championships races, pit stop for refueling are forbidden, you could be disqualified ! (If I am not mistaken).

Yeah. Phil I think you did it in a tow... Wink
Just checked the replay and compared my fastest lap with one of my "normal" efforts, and yes you are right Cookie.  It was the draft LOL Smiley.  Hope you'll do the same again for me when the season starts Wink
