Hmmh - strange - no problems at all with the track online and offline Yep. First time in a lot of years @ SROu that I cannot install a track. Updated my video driver, ran a Registry cleaner and uninstalled Png2 (with all tracks) but to no avail. Just ran out of ideas.

No probs with track install for me either. Try deleting any oulton 'HAT' files you may have. One thing I don't get with car choice is why the Alfa 2.0 is '72' only. Why the heck do you want to allow the fastest newest version whilst disallowing a decent group of 71 cars for more variation on the grid??? It's kind of become a 2 class race too as I can't see the alpine or mini being anywhere near the Tc's and Alfas...unless johns driving one I'm at same speed in 1750 or 2000 Alfa so far and fairly similar with a Tc I tried. The broad speed is a bit too quick for the group I think but could be wrong, the Alfas are quick.

Have a look at my times in an earlier post Mark. The older less powerfull but much lighter Alfa 2.0 is a good bit faster here than the '72 one, which for me is only a bit faster than the 1750 on a good lap. The Broadspeed 70 model (Gr2) is not as fast as the Mann 16v ones, there is a big mix of times in the Escorts. Even the Gr5 ones are not all the same, some are 8v some 16v.
The full range of Alfa 2.0 are available at one of the upcoming British Historic events (some series overlap, but hey it's all fun) as are all the RS1600s and TCs, where the car choice is more heavily weighted towards the escorts.
The Alpines and Minis are for people who want more choice, and may prefer a slower car. People have asked in the past that I include such extra choices, it costs nothing, ignore them if you like, no worries.
Not had any trouble with track install here either, try Tony's original no grip install and let us know

Ah didnt know that, well spotted Sure its not your driving? pretty unusual for the newer variant to be slower than an older one The Alfas are pretty fast, i was getting outgunned by them at Estoril last night and i was in the Pantera (stock). Not done many laps here yet, think a late 48 is my fastest so far. Pretty good version of the track. My first track day of the year is at Oulton Park in March so im counting this as some handy pre-sesh training as ive never driven there before

Could be my driving sure I do a few laps in each car with only minimal setup changes for steering and suchlike and with race fuel. It is likely that with some determined setup time any of the cars would be more competitive than in my quick tests. The 71 alfas were a second faster for me with the same number of laps than the 72 one, and I tried the older ones first. At the upcoming Mallory event, all the Escorts seem to wee on the ALfas, so I made it all Alfas in the hope that someone will get one going fast enough to be competitive. I even included the Volumetrico as that in the right hands is very quick. Oulton track day? what day, If I'm free I would come down to chuck one of my cars round if there are entries. Oh, and the track day layout is usually the full track but they have the chicanes in.

Its a Porsche only day Matt and sold out in a week!, no oik cars allowed In fact its a Porsche RS & RSR day so i'm lucky i'm allowed to share the same tarmac as those hallowed uber-quick beasts Looking forward to a few pax rides in some of the more exotic ones too Glad to hear they use the chicanes, adds to the fun! RE: Mallory (been on track there too!) i'd be very surprised if the Alfas cant hold their own or even beat some of the escorts there judging by what i saw in last nights GC race, so you may be a bit hasty removing one or t'other.

Yep I was suprised that the Alfas which should be a bit faster on a fast circuit were slow there for me compared to the Squashcourts. Hopefully we will get some times from people soon, so an fine tuning can be done.

Updated my video driver, ran a Registry cleaner and uninstalled Png2 (with all tracks) but to no avail. Just ran out of ideas. Got the whole thing working again including Oulton. Turned out that I had to force PnG3 to use DirectX 8. DirectX9 and Oulton crash at startup. Probably the circuit has some fancy graphics which my aging desktop has some difficulty with. Thanks for all the replies. See you tomorrow!

Hello chaps, a slowcoach refugee from NoGrip here - would it be ok to join in this race?
Looks like some familiar names here so I've probably raced with many of you at one time or another, but hopefully that won't that put you off..!
Probably won't be able to make it every week, but hope it's ok if I drop in here and there as time allows. See you on track if so.

Will be great to see you on track Frex I've been having a blast tonight & seem to be able to do 46's/47's in most of the cars. I find the 1750 Alfa the easiest drive if that helps anyone who's not had much practise time

Hey frex, welcome mate.
For those that don't know him, frex has raced GTL & P&G over at NoGrip for about the same length of time as me, & also often races at GC in GTL & P&G. One of the nicest & fairest guys on track.
Just for the record, been trying a few laps in the 1750 Alfa & am in the mid 1.45s with it so far.
