As a newbie here I'm more than happy to drop out if big numbers turn up and the server starts to show the strain.

I very much doubt anyone needs to drop out. The only thing that seems to upset a full grid server is when people drop in and out changing cars during pracy/qually (noticed that on a GC event) so might help if you all have an idea what to drive beforehand  Smiley  But i dont expect it to be full anyway.

err thanks for the tips on Old hall, hope your not putting the mockers on me!  Tongue Ive survived the nurby and spa!

Hi chaps! I'm glad to see the numbers are increasing rapidly with P&G 3 here. Don't be afraid for us, cause we have restarted the ROTW P&G championship on alternate weeks, and this evening my VDA mates will be busy for a champ race. I'm still without a steering wheel, but I hope to come back racing very soon, probably in the second half of February. However, we will have some problem to race again here on thursdays, cause we're running another VDA champ in this season in the free Thursdays. I found the P&G much more funny than GTR2, but I'll havo no choice, until the P&G races will stay on Thursday to come back racing here. I'm very disappointed about this, but I can' do nothing about it  Sad Sad

I wish you a good race for this evening. I will be engaged as a commentator during the live streaming of the race. The only role left for me at the moment Smiley

I will continue to follow your P&G championship as a spectator Sad What more can I do?

Cu chaps Smiley

Lost connection whilst sat on the grid. I was way off pace anyway but I was looking forward to racing those around me.

Great race while it lasted,
Had a good battle with Clive at the start of the race and managed to make a place. Alex was ahead of me for about 5 laps until he seemed to carry straight on at T2 Huh . Clive was starting to catch me and he was making about 0.2 seconds on me a lap. Started to drive to the limit beating my Qual time and all was well. I went a little wide and lost about 2 seconds a few laps later.  Angry . Don't know what happened on the start finish straight as I carried on and hit the barrier which blew my engine  Sad . That was the end of my race.  Sad   no .

Thanks Matt for putting a great PnG race on.  Smiley
Well Done to Jos and all finishers.

I can't imagine I could have had more fun there really (unless MJ had pulled his finger out Wink)

Had A LOT of really good clean close racing with about 4 /5 drivers keeping me very busy. It really was an excellent balance between the Escorts Vs Alfa's on this track Cool

Congrats to all finishers, sorry to those less fortunate & great to see the new faces.

Chris

p.s. Sorry to "A Ed"(?), for managing to bump you from behind when we were both at almost full tilt! I think you must have changed gear & with us being so close, the drop of speed just caught me out sorry Embarrassed. Waited behind while you got going again & was quite excited at the prospect of us (who were so evenly matched) catching slow poke MJ lap by lap sweatdrop, but suddenly the pair of you seemed to have a moment & I calved through the middle ninja

p.p.s. More like this please Matt thumbup2

I had to miss the last two races, couldn't make it back from work for one and was travelling for the other. By pure chance, I saw that tonight's event was on with 20 minutes of practice still left so quickly finished my dinner and went to the track. Taking no chances, I selected a fast car and a conservative strategy, practising and qualifying on hard tyres and race fuel. My race strategy was to concentrate and to finish, and it paid off: I didn't fall off, I chased Geoffers until he fell off, closed in on JohnW and GoldTop until the latter spun and the former suddenly stopped. Despite my tyres going off, I held on to 3rd. This was hugely enjoyable, I didn't see a single incident on track. Of course, in equally matched cars, I would have languished somewhere midfield, but I'm happy to have kept it on the black stuff for 23 consecutive laps.

Cheers

Phew! where do you start ?! What a corker of a race!  Cool

I drove my flipping pants off in the Alfa1750 to just about finish in the top 10!  sweatdrop

Qually was a great scrap and most of top 10 within a few tenths, and then a few very quick front times. I Am Not Worthy

Race was just epic from start to finish, i dont think i hardly had a lap where i wasnt chasing/defending or fighting another car, and usually upto 3 other cars around me!  Shocked  The only part of the track i was really losing out on was the straight before the fast right dip kink as my car kept grounding over the hump and slowing me down, as well as the lack of horses compared to the 2Ltr boys, but i made nearly everyone fight to get past and stay in front as much as i could.
Good clean racing from where i saw, only a couple of contacts and that was between the new boys  Wink so you guys can argue amongst yourselves  Kiss
Great pace up front, even John got a run for his money this time out!
The escort v Alfa battle is excellent. If we can find one or two other cars to group in with them it will be great racing. Pleased to see a couple of guys take the slower motors too, the grid looked great  Cool

I fought to the end with Simons escort and brought the car home in 9th or 10th i think  Smiley

too many cars to add in and some drivers it didn't understand, so sorry the results will be delayed
I can't tell without P&G with me which escorts are 60's and 70's, and what tyres they have

Does Jos aka Jos the Boss = Jos Verstappen in the members, I managed to link the other new guys.

I think I am doing something wrong, or the install is confused because 2nd week in a row the
replay seems messed up, and is a tiny file.

I can't do much more on 3g, so I will have a look tommorow.
Sounds like a classic event, great stuff and thanks to all who turned up.

Great fun Smiley

Spent most of it racing with Goldtop, swapping places a few times after mistakes on both sides. All was going well and I was quite pleased to be in with a chance of a podium in the gutless purple Escort until, with a couple of laps to go, the screen went black Angry Was just about to hit escape when it came back, so managed to hold on for 5th. Hope I didn't get in anyone's way when it happened.

Grats Jos on the win thumbup1

sorry John I took the podium that was rightfully yours. I just about managed to not hit you when you suddenly stopped. Glad you recovered.

Great race-event, nice to see new faces Grin.
How on earth did you manage to get the Alpine do so well Flex?
I picked the B 18 tyres for the Alfa, and that turned out to be a bad choice ...... had almost no grip on the last 3 laps, and spun off a couple of times.

Cracking race last night. Had a good start and managed to sneak 2nd early on while others were chasing hard/sorting themselves out. Was soon closed down by Superswift in the superswift Escort who pulled a stunning move on me through Knickerbrook and then drove into the distance  Cool

I then had John chasing me down in his lilac Escort, a battle that was to last for most of the race. We swapped places a couple of times until I started to come under pressure from NPP and tried to sneak through at Lodge, but couldn't get it stopped in time resulting in a spin. On the following lap John had his freeze and I was back in 4th for a lonely couple of laps to the finish.

Great race. I really enjoyed every moment from start to finish.

I took 8V escort because I like underdogs and because of my faulty H- shifter works fine only in first 4 gears otherwise I would took alpina ...

For more to say I need to see replay because it was so intense ...

@ Legzy

Yes, friendly bump occured when I was shifting to 4th but has nothing to do with my spin - it was my mistake by going too wide (didn`t know where you are and it would be stupid to close the door on you there) and clip the grass. I was surpriced saw you waiting for me to rejoin but couldn`t reach keyboard to tell you "go" ...

Actually my second little "incident" with TGC was probably because I`m doing heel & toe all the time so i can`t brake hard and late as guys braking with left foot (I know, it`s slower way but much more enjoyable) ... my early braking must caught him unprepared causing to miss his braking point. Small bump, no damage done but we lost some more places (one or two if I remember right) while he waited me to pass him.

I`m done with arguing. Happy now Mark?  Grin

How on earth did you manage to get the Alpine do so well Flex?

Actually i was somewhat disappointed with my pace last night as i could get nowhere near my practice times - 45.8 with low fuel (probably a lucky fluke of a lap) and regular 46s in race trim. Nevertheless there were a few nice battles here and there at the back of the pack, although i was probably over-driving a bit in my attempt to find some extra speed and made a few errors along the way - hence dropping further back as the race went on.

Managed to keep it (mostly) tidy though and not get in anyone's way (my main priority in my debut race), so it's all good.

Thanks for the fun and cya next time.

Does Jos aka Jos the Boss = Jos Verstappen in the members, I managed to link the other new guys.

correct, glad my account still worked, last time I used some was in 2009  Smiley when I raced you guys in version 2.0 of this mod.

the race:

funny thing is I thought for the whole race that is was TGC who was behind me, but it was superswift, so I said good race to TGC instead of suoerswift Tongue
it was a close one pretty much the whole race, superswift overtook me once when i went offroading in that darn fast right turn. couple laps later he drifted his escort bit to enthusiasticly and overtoo him again,
last lap was really close until he made a mistake again so I could do a relaxed drive to chequered flag  Cheesy
