.................but I think I'll stick to something I can drive next time!  Roll Eyes

LOL
Me too.

Have been totally out of it for the last couple of weeks and will hopefully get some enthusiasm back in the mix soon.

I am totally gobsmacked by Jos' performance in the Cobra.  The darn thing tried to kill me at least four times during the race and I slipped from front to back as I tried to keep it on the road.

Grats Jos, you beat off all the hairdressers in great style.

Had a cracking battle with Geoffers (sorry about tap on last corner!)

Don't think it was me Purdie, I had already made a mess of things early on, after a good start. Was way down near the back of the field struggling to contain some lift off oversteer on the Pantera that was much worse than in qually. Couldn't seem to find a setup that was consistent, had one that gave me 2.07 laps in testing but was total bubbles in practice, made it better for qually then that was pants in the race. I'm trying out lots of different cars at the moment but I think I'll stick to something I can drive next time!  Roll Eyes

No problem with the collision Nik, just one of those nights!

Sorry I meant Clive !!

No problem Andy.

Compared to JPV's last desperate lunge two corners from home it was a non-event!  No worries either JPV, I was laughing like a drain all the way to the finish.  Sorry for getting in your way but it was the only tactic that I had left!

First off, after yet another mis-start I'd like to request that clear instructions are included in all race announcements for using the HUD or for practising the start beforehand and consequences of not doing this. Imho re-starts should only be under exceptional circumstances (mass discoes etc) and not for lack of prep. We never used to have this problem here and all it does is cause confusion and indecision. If drivers jump the start, they should then pay the penalty. Rant over.

When we eventually got going again it was another corker. I'd been demoted from pole to 6th on grid and got another quick start and was soon chasing down 2nd position. A few laps in I managed to get past Daniel's IROC and set about chasing Jos the Boss. We were nip and tuck for the rest of the race as I managed to squeeze past a few times, only to be out-dragged on the straights. I was hoping the Cobra's tyres would start letting go towards the end, but it wasn't quite enough for me to take advantage and I got pipped on the line. 10 metres less and I'd have taken the win Roll Eyes Great driving Jos, particularly as we were so close for much of the time and vying for the same piece of tarmac  Cool

I've had a lot of fun again!

In short, my race was all about this:

thanks guys! Smiley

first off I wanna say sorry to the guy in the pantera I hit at the start. it was hotkeys I think...
I popped my cobra beast into second and it jumped to the right hitting the pantera Sad

Rest of the race was very nice though, it was a battle of power vs handling. it was the long straights that made the track a little more suited to the Cobra.
Goldtop was always close at the last corner and even past me a few times.

It came down to a drag race to the finish which I won by 5 hundreth of a second! wow

You did nothing wrong Dragon. Usually  I post the server's replay immediately after the race. The last 3 events the server has
messed up the replay. I tested it last weekend with a short test race and it worked fine, but in a real event it messes up.

I will try a reinstall of PG3 next week and see what happens. It was good of you to offer up your own replay as the "official"
one was useless.

Also.. I'm with Tudor in the restart thing, we've been doing this for years with add on tracks, suddenly we are having false starts
maybe I have just been unlucky with the chosen tracks so far, but it's not my responsibility for people getting the start right it's
everyones. I always do a test race start to check the lights and post what I think is enough, if a couple of people get jumped
starts there will not be a restart like in GC, where I've been in races there where there have been 3 restarts just because someone messed up.
We traditionally never do restarts here unless as Tudor says there is a mass disco, so please don't expect one on demand.

Also please do remember if you hit someone for whatever reason, you should wait for them or take a drive through.
If they are so damaged that they can't get going again, you can wait for an incident report to possibly be put in against you, or
leave in shame. Hard words perhaps, but people have left in shame before. No one in this event whether old or new members
are unreasonable drivers, but everyone makes mistakes now and then, just please act accordingly.

Here endeth this mornings sermon  angel

oops sorry about breaking the normal procedures when uploading the replay in advance in this thread
I just thought that perhaps you had a full log file as mine was corrupt/incomplete. Apologies if this lead to any misunderstanding.

@Matt (or other admin)

The #009 and #070 (#70009 and #70070 I presume) Mustang BOSS 302 are listed in the 70s Group 2 class, not the P&G Group 3 O2L  whistling

Thanks Alex. I can't change that (I think) all I can do is set them as "60's" or "70's"
I will ask Dave.

A little late, but better late than never ...
I knew that my tires can not last the distance so I made few changes on car in order to preserve them. And didn`t actually try to race anyone, just to keep my pace but that wasn`t enough.
Last 6 laps was agony but only because of one place - exit from slowest corner before Mistral. No traction, even short shifting didn`t help to prevent sliding ... but honestly, I ended up in 6th place only because of reshuffle for restart giving me advantage over some faster guys.

There is one other thing i want to say. It`s a real pleasure to race against all of you here.
No BS just fair racing.

If this cryptic exchange is trying to say that #70070 in the results is mapped to the wrong car (60s when it should be 70s), Matt you should be able to fix that by simply correcting the SimCar mapping and regenerating standings. The classifications are derived from the cars.
