Hard luck Nik...that would have been a good battle.

My race was scuppered by a stop/go for pitspeeding which I've never known before in PnG  Huh I even practised my stop in an offline race and all was ok. Funny thing is that when I served my s/g it didn't come up on the clipboard so I ended up taking tyres again. I was expecting to receive a dq for this, but it never came. Obviously something very wrong there  Huh Huh Huh

I've stated before that I hate pitstops as the only thing they add for me is the headache of working out a strategy (I do enough maths in my day job) and the potential for ruining a race.

Anyway, congrats to Geoffers for a great drive  Cool

Jeez my pit in lap was just under 7 minutes lol  Shocked Cheesy
Also your chart says I retired with suspension damage but I actually ran out of fuel on the last lap  Roll Eyes must be a track bug as I did 13 laps on first fuel tank and then refilled it to the brim where it only managed a further 11.5 laps  Huh Zarek was a lap behind me when the race finished so assume means I should be 8th not 9th?

I guess it's coming from so many years being comfortable with the procedures in GTL, but there seem to be 2 certainties with my PnG races so far - I will ALWAYS miss the start, and my pitstop (if there is one) will never run to plan..

Yes, it took me awhile to realise you had to switch off the engine in PnG at pitstops before the crew will refuel your car. Then, even when I knew this I used to forget to switch off anyway. This time I remembered correctly to kill the engine as soon as I stopped, but then the damn car would not restart afterwards. *sigh*

Never mind, the first half was fun.

Congrats Geoff and the podium.

Congrats Geoff and the podium.

i just hit the same key i found that killed the engine, that worked  Smiley  Must remember to remap my keys before the next one.

ps...anyone use the 'handbrake' in P&G3? i see the setting for it in the garage menu but havent mapped it and tried it yet. Might have been useful in that very tight uphill right hander here.

It seems I was the only one who took the time to practice pitstops  Grin Grin

Here's a few tips:

You need to turn off the ignition to stop the engine, then turn it on again, and finally hit the engine-starter once the fueling is done. Both buttons can be mapped as you see fit. Also you guys should know, that it's possible to plan your pitstop orders during the race by the use of dx. You can preorder, that body damage or suspension should NOT be fixed during pitstop. It works the same way as the Motec in GTR2. It can be very stressing to do this during the race, but it saves you a lot of time in the pit.

I hope you guys DO NOT pay any attention to this, so that Hotkeys may once more gain several positions, whilst you gents mess about in the pit-area Wink Wink

I have always been rubbish at pitstops, so I leave everything auto
I drive into the pits, the engine stops after a few secs, the guys do their thing and I drive off.
You can set some options in the strategy part of the advanced setups. I forgot about
the XD pit thing, my options were rather limited though. I needed a full tank as I only had
enough for 2 extra laps at best, and my tyres were all shot at half way, my damage was
cosmetic and took 5.5 secs extra so I just hit return and get straight on with it rather than
mess about with the pit board. A shame Legzy had an incident as he is a master of pitstops
and if I go into the pits ahead of him, I invariably behind on the road when he comes out
after his, has happened a few times in the past, the man is a pit wizard  sorcerer

I'm using the logs from the server as supplied with the replay.
When I logged off noticed that PnG3 designated you with Suspension issue not fuel.
Don't know why the SROU results list you differently than the server's results. I'm afraid you have to ask Matt.

Seems I was one of the few not to have any pitstop issues, apart from nearly overshooting the pit entrance.  Roll Eyes

Race was quite straightforward, took the lead from Nik & GT at the start. Saw Nik disappear & then had to drive hard to hold a gap of 2-3s over GT until he pitted. Had a few more laps in the IROC tank so ran to 16 laps before pitting. Saw GT had to stop twice so could be a little leisurely about my stop & also decided to change tyres as well as refuelling. Came out with a 30s+ lead & drove quick but carefully to the flag.

Congrats to GT & Stig on the podium, cya next week.  thumbup1

Bring back GTR2!

Dan, thanks for the apology. I should have continued, but red mist had decended.

MJ, anybody who has ever run out of fuel during a race here in all the sims (bar iR), has always been effectively docked a lap automatically by the import system. I can remember it being discussed a couple of times at least & think Dave gave some explanation when he was running UKGTR2.

Matt, yeah not sure why (as I do nothing smart/special), but I do always benefit from pit stops laugh

Thanks again Matt for this great track and car combo.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to learn the track -
had some trouble in the narrow corners of the second half of
the track.

But fun til it lastet  Roll Eyes
