Several of us have had similar trouble over the years, GOldTop suggested slowing the clock speed 10-20% and it cured my hanging graphics

Yep, while you're in there give the case a thorough hoovering out and use a small brush to get into all the nooks (careful not to disturb anything). I also found that increasing the gpu fan speed helped too at the cost of a little more noise. You might be able to find a suitable utility to create a fan profile (I use Afterburner for my Nvidia card).

Ok, now I am officially scared, my fastest lap so far (granted only by 1 tenth) is in a 911 p.s Why have you wasted a couple of hours Clive, there is not a huge difference between the TCs and the RS1600s just the RS1600s have more power for me the 911 is fastest as well - though it is also fastest to go off into the scenery. 2l Alfa is only slightly slower, but seems to eat tyres very quickly. Can't get the Escort to go round the corners which is not helpful on this track. There's only one Broadspeed Escort available - or am I missing something? Is the more powerful Alfa allowed? Haven't tried it yet ...

Ummm, I thought there was only one Broadspeed TC? I have allowed all the cars on the server. For me the Escort-TC is pretty well the same pace as the 911. I will check the cars on the server again. HAL's GTR2 event should have finished by now.

Just do what I do Clive, pick a car & stick with it.
LOL I did! And now it isn't in the race. I had a setup for the RS1600 from Adelaide.

I agree, it's track time that's most important. If yo've spent a couple of hours on a track, jumping in any other car will only set you back a bit, you've nailed the lines already etc. If I'm lucky I'll get half hour after UKGTL Race tomorrow night to have a quick scout round this track (should be enough to beat Clive on Thurs ) p.s. use your RS1600 setup for the TC one, use it as a starting place, wont be far off

to clarify - I see only one Escort TC, it's a Broadspeed. If that's how it's supposed to be, everything is ok.
I will have to check the car again, though, for me it was the slowest of the bunch because it wouldn't turn (and I'm not an Escort hater - my first podium, at Oulton, was in an Escort).

A couple of the Escort TC's have 217 BHP, and those are the ones that will match the Alfa 1600 GTA-SA and the 911 2,5

We had this before with the Escorts, the Broadspeed is (I think) the only Gr2 so if that is the only group selected that is all that will show up. I deliberately leave all the cars available on the server to avoid this sort of thing, I will check.
I hate changing cars, I did spend a lot of time on this event, and always felt that my times must have been odd, as I was getting very little difference between the various Escorts, which is plainly daft. Perhaps I am just not a good enough driver to discern the subtle nuances of the cars, but for me apart from a bit more power the 16v TCs drive much the same as the lower powered RS1600s. The 8v Escort TCs are quite a bit slower. All the Alfas are available. At Oulton the older lighter Alfa 2.0 GTaM was faster than the heavier new one.
Just checked and all the Escorts are available to me when I join the practice sessionon line. I think there may be a clue in the Oulton thread....
If I don't have 60's Gr5 selected off line I can only see the Gr2 Broadspeed, but on line I still see them all. I checked the Oulton thread and nothing obvious there.

Thanks, the Gp2 thing explains it. Will play around with the Escorts a bit more.
All in all, this is a selection of cars which suits a wide variety of driving styles and approaches.

Well I did about 30 laps in the Alpha I did well in at Oulton & got down to a mid 52 eventually For a giggle, I then did 3 laps in the Porka (stupid cars) & did a 52.1 on default setup. I can't imagine what times a trained Porka driving thoroughbreds like MJ ( ) will be posting Do we always have to give an advantage to the Porka drivers? I had hoped that was just in GTR2 @Alessandro: Welcome

Welcome Alessandro. if you add your location in your profile you will get a nice Italian flag next to your name in the race results For the past few races the flying pigs have been grounded, this event they can really fly. I am now slightly faster in the Escort though I agree well trained beetle herders will be hard to beat. Just done a few laps with MJ on line, I managed 52.2 best in the Escort, he was down to 52.6 in the 911 after only a few laps
