What happens  if you create a new player? I have done that in the past and it hasn't changed my life

I think that many of these nasty modern chicanes are more a case of the cars evolving into
something they were not when the tracks were originally designed, and it only takes one
arrogant and over confident driver to (possibly) set his car up so low that he bottoms out and goes straight on
to make track owners add devices to slow the cars down. The 1st chicane at Monza is just plain
daft, if they had made it a bit more open it would not be too bad, but that go kart thing they
have is insane and a travesty. The Senna chicane here is not so bad, the high chicane is
horrible. IMHO

Off topic perhaps, but generally of possible interest:

A government e-petition has been created to try to avert the possible closure and redevelopment of Mallory Park (Leics) as a result of noise complaints from local residents. This is not necessarily just from new residents.
The local government is trying to strike a balance, recognising the economic importance of the track, but the track is becoming increasingly restricted by reducing dB limits.
There appears to have been an agreement in place since 1985 but this is being reviewed.

Sign, decline, or circulate as you see fit. E-petitions take only a couple of minutes to complete.

I quite like chicanes, always have since my first scalextric set  Smiley I enjoyed them at Oulton last week in my own car, they add a nice challenge and it always feels good flying through them. The chicane at Cadwell is mega when your on it.

As for noise aggro about circuits, nothing makes my blood boil faster  Roll Eyes do we shut motorways, airports and rail lines because they build houses nearby? Fooking nimbys....grrr.

Signed and now I shall be taking a few minutes to circulate this on other forums.

This really makes my blood boil  Angry

I have some (a very tiny amount) sympathy for people who live somewhere and over the years
the noise of cars/bikes at a track or a track where they only ran once every other Sunday
are now running track days etc several days of the week. But when people buy a house near
an airport/track cheap because of the noise and then try to have night flights/track days
stopped they are "cheeky"

Just used google earth to look at the area surrounding the track. Mostly agricultural but also some very posh looking new houses and housing estates. Bet they claim they didn't know the track was there when they purchased  Roll Eyes
Anyway I've voted and passed on.

Similar storey at Ty Croes (Anglesey) there have been house+s nearby for a while
but someone has decided to get awkward. The track has been changed to make the hairpin
a bit further away from the houses, and they have created huge earth banks to reduce
direct sound.

Croft suffered as well, it was in danger of being closed down completely because
(Allegedly) the Owners wife shacked up with a local chap (a solicitor) and they then
started a campaign to kill the circuit. No emotional issue here guys of course  whistling

A similar mentality to those who move into a house by a pub and then complain about the live music....and it only takes one!!

Probably true, I can't see 'Convenient for Mallory Park' featuring too much in the Estate Agent's advertising!

I'm sure some people relish trying to get things shut down.

Matt, probably worth giving the save Mallory thing it's own post?

Might be missed tucked away here.

You wouldn't want to know what limits are imposed on Zandvoort because of noise complaints.. the circuit has been there since 1948 !!

A complete re-install has left me with a system that now works and a steering wheel that feels like an egg whisk in lumpy custard!

Don't think that I will trouble anyone at the sharp end!

Did you remember to do the plr patch clicking on "player" after you create the new profile?

Yes thanks Manteos.

Good to see you back.

It might be my head that needs patching!

EDIT:  I will be ok once I get John's latest setup.
