Moderator's Report

A great race with a clean red zone,
but one big incident was reported...

Server replay time: 0h04m50s

Dean follows Ronnie close for the first laps, Deans Lotus is way better in and out of corners, but Ronnie is faster on the straights.
After 3 laps Ronnie slides wide with 3 wheels in the gras in T1 and Dean takes the advantage to make a pass.
Dean cuts the corner and is a little destabilized as he drifts to the left where Ronnie is.
He has a 99% overlap when it comes to the collision as Ronnie did not loose too much speed.
Ronnie spins and the following drivers can't avoid crashing.
Shame, Natan ended upsidedown and his race was finished.
The rules say:
In a corner, after a legitimate overtaking attempt the cars end up side by side. Both drivers move over instead of staying on their own side of the track. Contact is made. Racing Incident.

WELCOME to the UKGPL Season 24 - Pro Trophy - Round 2

For the second race we go to France, Albi the flat airfield track,

The specific division rules for the Pro Trophy have changed as the INT division has been suspended.

The Pro Drivers will have a free car choice. Drivers will have to remain in that chassis for the rest of the season, they will only be allowed to swap chassis in exceptional circumstances and only with the approval of the moderator.

Handicapping will be introduced from race three onwards and will only affect the top three drivers in the championship. The top three drivers may, at the moderator's discretion, be limited to a slower car. If handicapping is in action then handicapped drivers will be notified in the race post.
After some discussion the big majority of the drivers want to drive the Pro Trophy in PRO mode!

There will be full moderation of lap one Red Zone and reported incidents for the rest of the race.
Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.
Full time drivers have priority access to the server until 21.00 UK time.
Please restrict your chat to a minimum!

Apologies to anyone who was affected by my disco at the end of Lap 1.

I sure that I had finally sorted my PC probs after a "clean " race in the F2's at Riverside on Sunday and was looking forward to some close action around Albi.

My cordless mouse is now in kit form after it came into contact with the wall on the far side of the room at high velocity just after the disco, fortunately I have a USB mouse as a spare  Roll Eyes

grats to those who raced and survived.

...the contact late in the race Axel.

Was my fault Ronnie! Sorry!
I had spun and tried to get out of the way in wrong direction...

Sorry for the contact early in the race Dean and sorry for the contact late in the race Axel. Grats to the podium.

Felt justified while I was doing it, not so much after watching replay. Too aggressive on my part. Thought it was on, then tried to back out too late, dropped a tire over that inside edge, and...  Embarrassed

Sorry to you, and everyone involved in the ensuing melee (Andreas Gebhardt, Al Heller, N. Hance, and especially Natan Vix, who had his race ended right there).

Off to the steward's office for me. Not sure I'm keeping this trophy.  Sad

Paint the Lotus black & gold for next round, put "Grosjean" on the side maybe...

Think I lost 4 places by lap 1 turn 1 - is this a record Embarrassed. After that I sort of "lost the plot" as you might say. Was lapped once by the 3 leaders & then with a few laps to go I disco'd & to be honest it was a relief. I sometimes drive Albi off line for fun. Mexico next I think. A track I never drive unless I have to when its in the UKGPL schedule - be afraid - I am Grin.

Sorry accepted!
But all in all a good race for me. Had a great battle with Al and Rainier. The fast Front-Runners where too quick for myself. So I am kind of happy with my position at the End. Could not ask for more.  Smiley
Congratulations to the Podium and all Finishers!

Very very disappointing race for me. Had a freeze in the very last corner. If I were 5 seconds faster I might have made it. Great fun in the beggining with Raoni, Tristan and Hristo. Sry for my slight touch of you Raoni when I overtook you. Cost you some time, but I think no harm was done. Overall I was not consistent enough. To many mistakes. Had a problem to find the breaking point when I was behind someone in the last left corner. Was satisfied with the 3rd place for this race and then the freeze. That sucks. -.-

I have a splitted feeling for this track...

I love the first sector with its superfast sweeping turns but I hate the DD with its critical braking zone.
So my race was hard work to keep the concentration high.

The start was good and after the first lap I found myself hunting the leading four. Little mistakes made me loose the slipstream and when Raoni had his moment with Flow I had some tow again.
But this track needs a 100% concentration and when I used the long straight to wipe the sweat out of my eyes I messed the braking into DD ...
This brought Dean back into my slipstream and he came closer and closer and finaly got me after I kissed the hayballs at the exit of T1.
Sorry Dean for the contact!
Now my concentration was lost and I spun again in DD and trying to get out of the way Ronnie had no chance to avoid me...
Sorry! Hope your car was still ok!?
But this must have given me some adrenaline and I could fight back the two lost places from Ronnie and Clutch.
What a surprise to read after the race I gained the 4th place...

Sorry for Flow's freeze, yes that's frustrating!

Well done Axel P4 on this track is a great result , some would say harder earned when the going gets tough than any podium place  Grin

Somehow this was my first ever time racing at Albi. Enjoyed the track layout but found it hard to find the ideal braking points & during qualifying couldn't really figure out where I was losing so much time to the frontrunners. Started at the back but ended up having a great fight with Dave & Andreas - as usual with these guys it was very competitive & fair so it made the racing much more enjoyable. No worries about the incident Dean - I just came across the aftermath so just needed to pick my way through the wreckage Wink.

Grats to Hristo, Tris and Dean.

Thanks Dean and Axel, no problem on the contacts these things happen. Maybe if I had not run so wide you never would have been tempted Dean and I have said as much in my incident report response. After our coming together Axel, I had some engine woes which made defending my position impossible, but I was happy just to get the car home.

One last point. While I'm sure he would have won in almost any chassis, do we or or don't we have to stick to one chassis in this series?
