Moderator's Report

So nearly a clean Red Zone. Possibly helped by your moderator not making the middle of the grid, this was MUCH cleaner. Well done.

Server replay time: 0h00m50s

Bernie takes the racing line at T1 but makes no allowance for Dave C who has got up the inside. Bernie should have left room. Although Dave and Bernie are relatively unscathed, it affects Billy badly. If this had happened later in the race, this could have been a Racing Incident but Lap 1, T1 demands more care.

The rules have this: In a corner, after a legitimate overtaking attempt the cars end up side by side. One driver moves over instead of staying on their own side of the track. Contact is made. Penalty for driver that moves over.

I am going to moderate the penalty down to a Warning as this was a small contact but Bernie is experienced enough to know that even small brushes can be catastrophic.

Server replay time: 0h01m35s

Adam Cooper dives down Billy's inside at Double Drat. There is no way he is going to make the corner and as Boggy follows him Billy gets caught by surprise by the second car. Double Droite is difficult and three abreast on Lap 1 is definitely not advisable. Adam braked way too late and Boggy was a bit late with his overtake.

This comes under the umbrella of Ambitious overtake and the best fit might be: In a corner, the overtaking car HAD achieved a 100% or greater overlap at the point of turn-in but the driver was not in full control but WOULD have made the corner. Warning for overtaking car.

Not sure Boggy would have made the corner as he is not turning for it because he is aware of Robert on his inside. He gets the benefit of the doubt.

This is more about making that move at that point in the race. Boggy leaves Billy nowhere to go even though he could argue that Billy turns into him.

Really enjoyed that, thanks chaps!

After a pretty horrific 2nd and 3rd laps (sorry to anyone i put off, my sincere apologies) I dropped to 6th after qualifying 2nd! I suddenly had a bogey corner - T1. Was fine all week but suddenly lost all confidence in it. I had hoped to keep up with Gio and apply pressure. But i found myself fighting for confidence. The first few laps of a race is a bag of uncertainty. First, you want to settle in as quickly as possibly and be smooth. Secondly, are the other guys around you going to be a threat?
So settling down requires a bit of reasoning. Can i be consistently fast or am i going to start persuading myself that i'm getting in their way and should lay down and roll over? I guess i was a little nervous as a new member that i should show my best side. So i felt quite red faced after my 3rd lap.

After that (a couple of off's) i had everything to prove and set about clawing back my dignity. Started a charge and my confidence returned. Had some great battles and fought back to 2nd. inherited a couple of places. But by the time i got there Gio was 11 seconds ahead already, I fought to bring it down but had to yeald and take care around lapping some decent chaps and lost out to some 8 seconds all together but at least i was still in 2nd which was by then, more important.

Ok, looking forward to Mehiho, should be a thriller. I haven't raced that track on GPL since 2006 in the 68's. And it all came back to me very quickly indeed. Smiley

Hi Paul,

no real problem now,  moderation has been done so Im happy with that.

In my report I mentioned an incident, I also mentioned ( and ticked the box) to say i didnt want anyone penalised, 'I just wanted to mention the incident as thats what I thought we had to do,

I just wondered why prior to the publishing of the race moderation I never received and acknowledgement of my report.

makes sense now if you never actually got the incident report from me. Wink

as I say, no problem here.

Three penalty points in a series and you get a slap on the wrist...

Talking of which, I was asked to look again at an incident and I was happy to do so and I have revised the moderation slightly.

The "Hand of God "  Smiley

Plod drove ford Anglias "Z cars" in the old days , which helped a lot , also was very adept at bantering my way out of most crimes de route ,  no cash scameras either in those days . I did at one time have 3 endorsments for "without due care & attention" and 3 cars written off (none of them mine I hasten to add ) strangely I never ever got caught for speeding  Roll Eyes  but did have  drunken driving added to my tally .( I was on a 3 hour road trip , how do they expect you to drive for 3 hours without a drink for god's sake ?  But the magistrates where not amused and showed there displeasure  )  Roll Eyes

Anyway , I "always"  keep my licence in the desk drawer at home,  were it is kept "spotlessly clean"     Grin
