Moderator's Report

We are usually a freindly bunch in UKGPL.Dean 0's first race in the F2's was a welcome of fire. Yet he still manages a Podium!

Server replay time: 0h00m53s

Ronnie closes on Dean 0 off the start line – the server shows no direct contact - warp related Racing Incident. This caused a chain reaction down the pack, but all followed from the first incident.

Server replay time: 0h01m16s

Ronnie spins after Druids. Sky does well to avoid Ronnie & Arf takes the outside to avoid Sky. Again a warp contact between Sky & Arf = Racing Incident

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m26s

Cookie doesn’t quite make Bottom Bend, a wheel on the grass causes scrubs off some speed. Natan is committed to the corner & his drift takes him in Cookie. Natan could have shown a little more caution & backed out to avoid Cookie, but not penalty situation.

Server replay time: 0h04m42s

Natan takes a second Shift R, having failed to take a SnG for his first. Double Disqualification!

Server replay time: 0h10m35s

Massive spin by Doni after Paddock, Dean L takes evasive action but Dean 0 runs into Doni – Racing Incident. Both drivers take a reset but Doni spawns in front of Dean, sending back into the hay bales. Technically this is 2 x shift R’s but the second should is waived as a direct consequence of the first. Dean complies with the SnG.

Server replay time: 0h17m20s

This time it's Arf's turn to spin catching out King Hiro & (yes you guessed it) Dean 0. Racing Incident

Moderator's Report

Red zone - all clear - so far, so good.

Server replay time: 0h03m00s

Tin Tin spins on the approach to the Daily Express bridge. He appears to struggle to gain control with the car crossing the track right to left. Paul V slows his approach & takes a line to the left where he runs into Tin Tin.

Server replay time: 0h05m54s

Paddock,Ed misjudges Billy's line & carries too much speed or gets a bit more tow than expected & runs into the car ahead.

Server replay time: 0h24m00s

Fran spins across te track on the approach to Druids - really leaving Shunji with no place to go.

Server replay time: 0h33m00s

Rainier has superior speed & commits to an overtake on the inside. Fran does no more than hold his line. The server replay shows the cars close but no direct contact. Ths is either a warp or a contested overtake (if contact would have been inevitable) = Racing Incident.

THIS POST IS FOR THE LIGHT & HEAVY RACES

Round III of the Formula 2 Trophy is back on British soil at Brands Hatch. The circuit  hosted several British Grand Prix between 1964 & 1986 & is something of a regular “add on” track for the GPL community.

The series will run on two separate grids ~ The Lights will run on T7 & the Heavys on UKGPL 3. Please ensure you join the correct race. The Driver list is shown below & the Championship Table can be found here F2 Trophy

In the series registration it states that handicaps will be introduced from Round III. The purpose of handicaps is to keep the series competitive until the late series. The Lights are tightly bunched at the top. In the Heavy’s Rainier has a small lead, but the boys from Brazil were absent at Riverside. Accordingly there will be no handicap at this race.

For this season only one reset is allowed per race & must be followed by a compulsory Stop & Go in the pit lane. If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded.
Incidents should be reported in the usual way.
In line with other divisions the races will be subject to full moderation in the red zone which will be as far as the tunnel after South Bank. The Moderator may chose to investigate any other incident, in addition to reported incidents & red zone incidents.

Please note that for UKGPL has introduced a system of penalties within each series for drivers accumulating yellow cards – see here
Penalty Points. Drivers incurring these penalties will receive a PM advising when a penalty has been applied & what race it should served.

Paul - this is an F2 race so you need a Lotus 41 or a Lotus 48.

If you find the front of the grid can you send me directions.

In 1969, I crossed the Channel for the 1st time. I got almost killed when I left the overcraft terminal in Dover. 1st lesson, you must look on your right first when you cross a street !   Shocked
I ended up in the Seven Oaks youth hostel in time for the BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch. Like so many people, I fell in love with the circuit at first sight.  Standing at the ground level at Paddock Bend, we could see half of the circuit, five bends if I remember well. Access to the paddock was still completely free at the time and I had a chance to take pictures of one the most beautiful racing cars ever - The Ferrari 312P.

I couldn't imagine in 69 that in 2013, I would be racing in Brand Hatch with a 67 Matra from my canadian basement .

Well, so much for souvenirs, Brands Hatch was and still is a driver's circuit and I'm not much of a driver. I'll try not to be too much of a nuisance.

Hi Pierre!  I was the 2nd guy to your left, at Paddock bend.  If you had been there in 1967, you would have been very cold and wet.  The same again in '71, but it's much warmer inside the cars! laugh

Beauty and the beast.  It's like comparing a Bertone Fiat Spyder 850 to an Austin Cooper S or Leonardo di Caprio to me for that matter ! Grin

You might compare the 69 312P to the 71 312PB in the same spirit.

I had to stick during the full 24 hours of Le Mans to a guy who was pretending the GT40 was better looking than the P4. Imagine ...
