Olla, After this race I seriously wondered what the heck we're all on about with that GTL discussion!? I joined the server which had about 11 GT3 Porsches and I was only one with a different car (Vertigo). Some more join and only Shark and me have an alternative car in the race? In this case Shark did pwetty well, but the Vertigo is no match for any car there I believe. Drove my ass off and managed a midpack qualifying of 12th (?). My personal best, 0.6 secs faster would have given me the same position, lol! Start was good, managed to not do a standing start after time started running, prolly due to the fact there's no countdown in the middle of my screen this time Ended up in 6th after people spinning and crashing and 'leaving' the server. Had to push really hard to stay there, which was bound to go wrong, hehe and it did. Let TT through, only to see him spin off and suddenly appear in my right front window again ! EGG! Was behind Ginsters and Mark after another spin. They had a really nice battle and I was able to stay close, but in last turn, Mark had a glitch, suddenly on my bonnet then 10 yard away again, hehe. Someone else left the server at the same time... Hence I was out of the game, lol. Even managed to ram myself into the pit wall in the last lap, since I've been driving GTL so much that I thought last lap, was really last lap... GTR felt it necessary to see this differently, rofl! Hence I lost even more places... HAHA! Can laugh at it now, but I was pwetty P'd off at the time! :'( Grats to Leuven and to all others who managed to finish 40 mins (or more ) of Oscher! T

Yeah, it's a shame more don't take the alternative cars as they handle better than the F360 or 911, even though they don't have as much grip or straight line speed. Also IT'S LONELY BEING THE ONLY ONE MADE OUT OF WOOD! We need a points multiplier to make it more worthwhile.

Hey guys, thanks for the commiserations, I appreciate it I've been looking into my connection problems (that's 3 out of the last 4 NGT Sprint races I've had a disconnect) and I'm now 95% sure it's down to my ISP. At peak times, I'm getting massive packet loss on my connection (up to 20%) which seems to be causing the disconnects. My ISP (freedom2surf) has admitted there is a problem generally on their network and specifically with packet loss for customers on an 8MB LLU connection (like me). I've been using a monitoring service ( http://l8nc.com/) to keep an eye on my connection and after a pretty good few days, the packet loss was horrible last night. We've been promised improvements over the next few weeks and a total fix by the end of Febuary with the installation of a new network to finally sort it out. The really frustrating thing is that I can't even move ISP. There's no mechanic in place to migrate a LLU ADSL connection like there is with a non-LLU connection. If I want to move ISP, I have to cancel entirely and order from a new supplier which could leave me without an internet connection from 2-4 weeks and as we run a small business from home that's just not an option. Anyway, that's my tale of woe over. If you think you might be having problems with your connection, L8NC is really useful (and free!). Pops.

Yea I know can't believe I spun.. well didn't actually spin, was one of those snap oversteer on power in one direction a little and then 90 degrees in the other direction. Car was bit too eager to get on the power diff!! Can't complain with 4th though, that's twice in a row you managed to get my position Mo .. It's actually the 3rd race in a row that I've inherited your position due to your misfortune Rich - not a nice way to decide the result so hopefully we can get some racing done next time

Had to write a little note on this... Before I went off (the first time!) I found myself behind Jamera and catching him nicely. Truth be told I was a little starstruck (for want of a better word) at the thought that here in front of me was an experienced racer that I've seen so many times before up at the other end of the field. "Must have been something wrong in his qualy session" I thought but at the same time I didn't care. I caught him and even passed at the 3rd corner and that was the best feeling of racing I've had so far being part of this wonderful racing league. Now fair enough, my inexperience kicked in after a few more corners and I lost the back end putting too much throttle on (trying to get away from Jam looming in my mirrors). You can say what you like about "going for the win", "accepting nothing less", etc, etc but for a relative noob, that was better than winning the championship and I have to thank all the guys that run this league again and again for that. I think I'm getting a bit better every race but the enjoyment gained from being part of all this is hearty indeed and cheers for having me! Just had to get that off my chest...

Hehe, glad your enjoying it Edza, it is a great thrill getting past someone on track, especially the bigger or regular names, its like claiming a scalp ! I only joined in october and i remember feeling starstruck myself whenever i came near any of the 'star' drivers upfront and still do with the likes of Leuven and Mo, who i just get right out the way of ! But the rest i'll fight wheel to wheel with The pace will come once you get more familiar with the tracks, then you can start working on setting the car upto suit your preference and gradually get quicker and more consistent. Then you get even more pressure being further up the pack !...but a bigger reward when you beat someone you used to be 'starstruck' with. Enjoy !!

What the heck is LLU or non-LLU ?!
T
LLU is Local Loop Unbundling. It's where the operator, BT in the UK (or Kingston for those in Hull ) who traditionally had a monopoly, have to make lines that run from the customers houses to the exchange available to other companies. Those other companies can then upgrade individual lines to take advantage of faster / better technologies. So, LLU broadband is using the same line but using different kit at the exchange to get faster speeds, non-LLU broadband uses BT's ADSL equipment (that can be re-sold to any provider). So, with a non-LLU connection you can pretty much use any provider but you are limited to 2MB broadband. It's easy to switch providers becasue the equipment is the same. With a LLU connection, if you were to switch providers, you'd effectively be using a completely different set of kit (that's not actually true but I won't complicate it further ) which is why it's been difficult for a migration procedure to be implemented... See, you wish you'd never asked now! Pops

One of the hardest things to do in Sim Racing is overtake cleanly, hence why it is so rewarding IMO Me and Locutos had a great battle at monza GTL in the GT40's on saturday, we even managed to go into the braking zone at Turn 1 and through the chicane all pretty much side by side. I was impressed by not only Locutos but also myself as we were able to do it well.
