Moderator's Report

Only 2 reported incidents for the full race, and the red zone was (almost) clean !

Server replay time: 0h00m45s

Contact between Göran and King Hiro on the first turn of the first lap.
Göran went to the apex but Hiro was already there.
Hopefully there was no bad consequence for Hiro, but Göran spun.
Göran should have kept his line.

Server replay time: 0h02m00s

On the 1st lap, just after the red zone, Andreas was hit from behind by Nigel Smith.

Server replay time: 0h52m18s

On the last lap, Göran was overtaking Ronnie and has almost achieved 100% overlap but Ronnie moves accross into him.
As there was no bad consequence for Göran and as it was not easy to see from Ronnie inside view, it will be considered as a contested side by side contact

Other moderation will be on reported incidents only.  However any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

well,

great while it lasted.  got up to 11th and had already gone from low 15's into the 1:14's ( a new PB) with lots of fuel and cold tyres so settled into what seemed was going to be an enjoyable race for me. Smiley

start was great with no incidents i could see, real steady for the first few laps. Grin

I was keeping pace with all the cars in front of me and could seemingly stay ahead of those behind and felt as though the feel for GPL is slowly coming back to me.

then... got a visit from the ol' "Prince of Drakness" himself.  Joe Lucas scuppered me with an Ignition fault.   :'(

no power, nor revs etc so pulled gently on to the grass and threw in the towel

hope all went well for the remaining racers.  did manage to catch a quick look at the grid just before starting and some very fast times up there.

Grats to the podium and finishers

I made the mistake of believing that I had fixed my PC problems.  Sad    I survived qually without any probs. Sound was good throughout.

But I think things have improved....No sudden discos in qually and I got halfway through the race before one of the 5 second screen blackouts sent me into the barriers. I guess that IS progress???

I hope no-one got caught up in my blind crash, I was enjoying the racing for the first time in months, but........................... ah well more digging around in the bowels of my PC. Undecided

Possibly the best piece of sportsmanship I have ever come across in GPL. I was ahead of Jonny O as he'd had a problem somewhere. He caught me up in Parc, a bit of a rash overtake & caught my back end. At this point I'm annoyed, when the dust settles my car is beached on some haybales but otherwise drivable. Now I'm a bit more annoyed & lookimg for the exit key. Jonny drives back along the grass & bumps me back into play, then waits for me to drive off. (I didn't actually realise this until I checked the replay). Unfortunately the steering had some minor damage. I was just getting in the way of fast cars - so I quit.
I did some mid 1.14's in practice yesterday but couldn't match that tonight. On a short track with some very quick drivers I was just becoming an obstacle, although I don't think I delayed anyone.
Overall a race to forget for me. But thanks Jonny - the act of a gentleman.

Yes to the JonnyO international rescue service  Smiley I like that .

I kept getting bumped off the server every time I tried to leave the pits for some reason , so I re booted hoping it would fix but the same thing happened , tried disabling my firewall and AV stuff after another re boot then waited for the race button ,  joined at the back of the grid , managed about 1/2 a lap and Bingo , think it might have been the shock of crossing the start finish line without being lapped or someone put a hex on me 66 mod files   Roll Eyes

That's a bit odd Bernie - sounds like the track version doesn't like your persona version?

I was hoping for better luck, with my nice shiny new landline, with a new roof over it's head.  Made one small late setup change, but it ruined my chances of a win, along with all those corners getting in the way!  "Grumble!"  My one setup click meant my rear wheels locked at turn in, and spun out.  It was soon a struggle to regain last place, but at least the new connection worked Ok . . . except twice during practice, and once before half race. Roll Eyes

I'd hoped a Lan connection would take priority over Wi-fi?  It's Broadband, but several other users apparently means uncertain times ahead.  May have to find a quiet evening hereabouts, to challenge you chaps with thereabouts.  Undecided

The Mclaren was losing out badly down the long straight so this was always going to be a bit of a damage limitation exercise. Good opening lap & was very happy to find myself behind teammate Tom, thinking I could use the slipstream from his Cooper for the rest of the race... except I misjudged just how much Tom's tow had increased my top speed down the straight & promptly outbraked myself into the hairpin on lap 2  Roll Eyes Sorry to Dave who was following close behind & couldn't avoid me. Painfully long wait for a safe gap to rejoin which dropped me from 8th to 17th, but after that had good fun creeping back up through the field, with the now-ubiquitous race-long scrap with Andreas keeping me busy. Congrats to H on the win - hurry up & take this damn handicap car will you Wink

Hopefully sorted now after giving AVG a good dose of looking at , not 100% certain and no way to test it unless I can find a host with 66mod Albi running (cough cough )  Well whatever my problems its great to hear your back in action again , just sorry i couldnt join you at the back . I'm on broadband here and its OK most of the time , dont forget we used to run GPL on 56K in the old days so its not so much the server as killer lag in the system   Smiley

Thanks!  I don't think anyone quite knows what goes on in the land of GPL online graphics, or it would've been fixed my now!  I'm just glad the real world is a bit more stable.  Do other racing Sims suffer similarly?

Oh and remember, you guys promised to let me past for a bit, 'til I'm back up to speed?  And keep track of how many wheels are still on the car for me. Cool

hi...Smiley

I was happy with the pole position, and a good race for me with a nice battle with H.   ....the ferrari look a little more powerfull in the straight line, so I was not able to overtake with the aspiration.....I try to do it at the break point but I miss it and then I loose the contact with H. ....what a pity for the battle ....next one maybe  Wink
