Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h00m58s

Natan gets a good start & is to the right going into the esses T1/T2. Cookie recovers from a slow start & has better approach speed - he holds hard to the inside. Natan's normal line takes him across the track. The cars touch but Natan gets much the worse of it. Unlikely Natan would have known where Cookie was, although he could have taken a wider line. Cookie had a better view & probably should have backed off.

Moderator's Report

Realtively clear in the red zone. Billy over does his braking & takes an unenforced spin in the Loop. Ed is following, he thinks this is a very amusing, until he does the exact same thing.

Server replay time: 0h08m30s

Four cars approacing the Loop. Badblood positioning means he takes an unconventional line into the turn, this scrubs reduces his approach speed & Billy cannot react quick enough to avoid contact. Racing incident.

Server replay time: 0h23m18s

Boggy is lapped by Fran & then Dave Curtis, across the S/F line & through the Esses - he getS a bit out of shape trying to keep to the kerbs. Ed also takes the chance to pass at the same time Boggy is coming back onto the racing line.
Ideally Boggy would have allowed more room but the Esses are difficult & he probably thought he 'd done enough by letting the other cars through. Ed would have assumed Boggy was allowing him room. Appears to be a genuine misunderstanding. The resulting crash caught out the following cars - but they arrived unsighted.

THIS POST IS FOR THE LIGHT & HEAVY RACES

Round IV – its Watkins Glen. A track known & loved by all at GPL (apart from the two hay bales strategically placed on the outside of the Loop)

The series will run on two separate grids ~ The Lights will run on T7 & the Heavys on UKGPL 3. Please ensure you join the correct race. The Driver list is shown below & the Championship Table can be found here F2 Trophy

Handicaps will apply from the Round – please observe this rule as a failure to take the correct car will result in an exclusion.
In the Lights Dean Logan – Group II (BT14, Ferrari or Cooper). Tristan & v Evil Group III – any of the Group II cars or either Lola or either Lotus.
In the Heavys – Rog UK – Group II, Rainier & Ed76 – Group III.
This season’s handicaps should not severely disadvantage the top three drivers, but give the pack a chance to compete.

For this season only one reset is allowed per race & must be followed by a compulsory Stop & Go in the pit lane. If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded.
Incidents should be reported in the usual way.
In line with other divisions the races will be subject to full moderation in the red zone which will br adjacent to the pit lane entry, after the Big Bend. The Moderator may chose to investigate any other incident, in addition to reported incidents & red zone incidents.

Please note that for UKGPL has introduced a system of penalties within each series for drivers accumulating yellow cards – see here
Penalty Points. Drivers incurring these penalties will receive a PM advising when a penalty has been applied & what race it should served.

Thanks for changing the name, Billy, i feel calmer and more reasonable already!

Sadly I won't be able to join you all tonight, as I shall be driving a Corvette through Death Valley at the time you're racing...... Lets compare notes later and see who has had the most fun  Smiley

I thought of doing a good place but awkward in the first loop requires me to leave last, I went up well until the 18th round and there I was put on the roof 2 times .... so shift R and abandonment .

Sunday was a very happy .... Grin

Winning the F2 at Watkins Glen was very difficult ..G. Heard was always very close and I knew everything would be 1 error.

Another good reason for joy was to find my CD for GP500 and walk with RG500 1980. tt1

Managed to get a tow from T Bot in qually so my grid position flattered me, I wasn't that quick!  The race was pretty exciting.  I bumped into Dean at the 90 on lap 5 when he spun.  Sorry mate I couldn't miss you but thankfully neither of us needed a shift-R.  Got going again and a few laps later on lap 10 I got tangled with Dean again under braking for the Big Bend.  I was on the inside when Nicky moved over and braked a little earlier than I expected.  I moved to the left to avoid him but then Dean couldn't avoid me and we both crashed out.  Sorry about that.  The race resumed again and this time I was on my own for a while.  Robert John was about 5 seconds ahead but I couldn't make a dent in his lead without a tow.  I saw Ronnie was only 3 seconds behind me so I decided to wait for him and try to work with him to close down Robert.  Big mistake LOL.  Ronnie was too quick and I couldn't draft past on the straights and we ended up fighting for position which allowed Axel and Dean to catch up.  The last 5 or so laps were very hectic but good clean racing.  It looks like Ronnie crashed out at the Loop (because of warp contact?).  Unlucky Ronnie.  Just held onto my position at the end, one more lap and Axel would have been all over me!

Apologies due.
Lap 6 - not a good idea to hit the chief moderator. I was 4th of 4 cars going into the Loop. I though I had braked early enough & kept the inside but ran into the back of Paul as he cut in from the outside.
Lap 20 (about) at the top of the esses I believe Boggy had reset & was stationery. Sorry - but no real time to react.
For the record - this series has a 1 Shift R rule. If you Reset & respawn inm a place that causes another accident a second Shift R will probably be allowed.
And finally - apologies to myself for overbraking in the Loop on lap 1 & spinning out (I think Ed did the exact same thing). Could have been a more interesting race apart from that.
Nevertheless, had some good racing with various drivers at different times. Did the last 6 laps sat on Rainiers tail (a lap down) - avoided the temptation to use the tow -it would be really bad form to crash into a team mate who was 1 lap ahead.

I also wanted to add that there was a problem with several of the cars disappeared, appeared when the loop starts just behind, it is not easy.

You can get away with it in your own series Wink

Just one of those things. I was surprised to get a cockpit full of Bill but it was only a matter of time. I wasn't much slower but I was vulnerable. Made it a lonely race for me but I let the leaders past and found I could keep up with Dave Rainier. We cruised up to Nigel, Billy and Paul? but just as we caught them (and they must have had some excitement because they were half a mile ahead) I clipped the kerb approaching the pits and span.

Had a little dice with my team mate Paul V (which was fun) but lost it at the big bend under yellows. Car was a bit twitchy on brakes and occasionally was uncontrollable - it was a pity, it was a nice squabble over last place...
