Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h01m21s

On first lap at Tosa, Sky2173 was rear ended by Bernie.

Bernie was arriving too fast (considering it was the first lap with several cars) but he turned right to avoid Sky ...unfortunately Sky also turned right (or he drifted ?)

penalty of 1+1 places reduced to 1 place

Server replay time: 0h01m55s

On first lap at Acque Minerale, Sky (again) was rear ended, this time by Billy !

At the braking for Acque Minerale, Sky overtook Billy and had 100% achieve the overtake but Billy's front right wheel touched Sky's left rear wheel.

Unfortunately the poor Sky had to retire !

As Sky was a little drifting after his overtook, the penalty of 1+1 (for red zone) will be reduced to 1 place.

Season 24 Historic Trophy (66) - Round 5 - Imola
The fifth round of the season will be at Imola in Italy. The circuit is named after Ferrari's late founder Enzo and his son Dino who had died in the 1950s. Before Enzo Ferrari's death in 1988 it was called 'Autodromo Dino Ferrari'.  We will be using the track as it was inaugurated in 1953 when it had no chicanes, so the run from Rivazza all the way to Tosa, through the pits and the eventually notorious Tamburello was totally flat out, as was the run from Acque minerali all the way to Rivazza which is just a long straight with a few small bends.  The circuit remained in this configuration until 1972.

You're right, Tristan. I will correct, thanks.

By the way, I would have preferred Imola with the 3 liters and Ste Jovite with 2 liters...

Controller issues on the start line so decided to quit before I caused mayhem by just sitting there trying to sort it out. Good luck everyone.

Very slow tonight - couldn't get the braking right in Piratella or Acque Minerale.
Only saved by lasting till the finish line.
Sorry to Sky - that's two contacts in consecutive races at Imola. Will file a report, for both.

Possibly I might have helped , think I gave Sky a nudge up the derrier and not sure if I started a billiards game or not though I thought I saw Sky recover after the nudge before I disco'd in disgust  Shocked
Stupid of me because I made a very cautious start,  the plan was to run uber careful and pick up places on others retirements due to my generally  crappy racecraft and a hopeless lack of speed .I arrived at the corner and found a traffic jam which suprised me and saw me late on the anchors but with full tanks and cold tyres the inevitable happened , it was just a kiss really but my front lhs wheel went awol neccisitating retirement , so sorry if this had a knock on effect though I didnt save the replay so not quite sure what happened after I left the track  Roll Eyes

From mid-grid, I was surprised to be up to 4th due to mishaps, after 5 laps.  Having missing the podium in Sundays Privateers, beyond the final corner, I decided it was now do or die time.  Crashed, but fell out trying.  turned

My race was peppered with confusion, thanks mainly to Prib going completely bonkers. Messed up the start as I couldn't see the green flag at all with my grid position/field of view & had to wait for the cars ahead to start moving. This wasn't too bad as I found myself behind Tom's BRM & with the handicap Lotus Climax lacking straightline oomph, I was rather relieved to sit in my teammate's slipstream. After a few laps though, I noticed Prib had suddenly dropped me from the race - the only time I've seen it do this before was for ignoring a black flag, so I was convinced that my obscured view somehow meant that I had jumped the start Huh I had no idea that Ronnie had retired at the start either as Prib was reporting him chugging along ahead of Tom & me all race!

My next spot of confusion occurred at 2/3 distance - Florian had been steadily catching us & just as he reached my tail, Tom suddenly slowed sharply on entry to the T1 kink - I overtook & was followed immediately by Florian & with Tom dropping back sharply I assumed he'd lost engine power. Had a nice fight with Florian for a few laps - the Lotus was so quick on corner entry & exit compared to the BRM but ultimately was easy meat on the main straight. I didn't want to take too many chances anyway as I still thought I'd been black-flagged & I didn't think Florian would appreciate being nerfed off by someone who'd already been "disqualified". All academic as it turned out, since both Tristan & Florian hit trouble in the closing laps & I swept past the wreckage to what I thought was 4th behind Ronnie. Tom was still going a little way behind me so clearly didn't have an engine problem - I then pondered whether he'd actually let me pass on purpose - after so many laps riding in his tow I was happy to hand the place back but assumed he'd come knocking on my tail if he wanted that & since he was still a little way back I supposed I should just carry on Wink Rather relieved post-race to find not only was I listed in the results after all, but also surprised to find that I'd taken 3rd from the phantom Ronnie we'd been chasing all race! Congrats to Hristo & Goran - and apologies to Tom if I misunderstood the masterplan Smiley

It's the 2 Ronnies - I would've thought one was enough!

Hi Bernie,

being lapped 26 times if normal for me..

as i said I still felt as though i was in the race.

I actually make my setups so they pull towards the grass verge.
