Thanks for the clear guidelines on what the 'track' is!
Unfortunately, I can't benefit from them as work will keep me from joining you tomorrow. Have a good race everyone!

Would it be deemed unnecessarily rude of me to ask why the server is running Mallory?

Hello, I am new here, and wanted to introduce myself and maybe attend a future race. It is unlikely that I will be able to race today, but I will practice offline just in case. I normally race with Mogget in the WSL and have raced against a few of you before. I look forward to joining one of your races sometime. I read through the "read me first" rules already. I saw that you communicate with flashing the headlights instead of chat during a race. I also read that if I bump someone, I can penalize myself with a drive thru penalty? I usually pull off the road to let the other car recover first. Please let me know if there is anything else that would help me out. Is there a different password to practice online before the event? Thanks, Walter

Hi Walter, welcome! If you go to the top of this page, you'll see the password to the race server and a link to the password for the practice server.
Yes, we flash lights and don't chat during race or qualifying. The leader will also try to remember to switch on his / her (do we have female racers among us?) headlights when coming up to lap people. I must say that I find the enforced chat silence very helpful, no more distracting sorries, thank yous etc. flashing across the screen.
I'll leave it to the more established members to comment on other aspects of etiquette.

Hey Walter, good to see you join us too! Another recruit of yours truly this really should mean i get an extra bonus of 50points in the championship you know for the extra 5 or so drivers ive added this season but if you could all part aside like Moses and the tides as i steam through in my sweet 911 this evening, that will do for now Im serious

So far so good, I did about 15 practice laps offline, and then the soft tires started to wear out. Then I successfully joined the server and did a practice lap online. To top it all off, my wife sort of agreed to the idea of me doing the race today.
The only problem is that I need to improve my race pace (2:19.5), but that is normal procedure for me.
I'll cross my fingers, Walter

Personally, I try to keep at least two wheels on the tarmac at all times. I don't really care whether local rules allow me to break that at one or two corners. I have a moral code, and I stick to it. Not the best car set for me (I like a nice V8 muscle car myself), but I will probably be driving the Alfa 1750 GTAm. I doubt that I will be hitting lap times anywhere near 2:10, but there is more to racing than super quick laps..... EDIT: I have just noticed that Walter has followed me here. Nice to see you, mate
