I made a Crystal Palace addon which stops the track being drawn, uncomfortably close to your arrival.  Works with or without other addons.  Some members may not have tried using this : http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=209

It's a great little track, though F1's were considered too dangerous to race there, even in the '60's!  We shall see who is brave enough. Cheesy

Do the same rules apply as last year?

Must use a different car for each race in this series??

It is a great track.. love it. used to be taken there in the late sixties/early seventies by my brother.  I remember too when getting to and from track they had concrete dinosaurs dotted around the park.

either that or my big brother was putting LSD into the flask of Tea Mum had made us !!!

I will love this one.. can you get out of second gear in a '67 Grand Prix car here Huh??

A lot of drivers don't know the history of the Crystal Palace.  It was built in the 1850's for the Great Exhibition of London.  Because it had so much glass, privacy was a problem for the Royal family, and they soon moved into Buckingham Palace.  A couple of drivers found it empty in the 1920's, and burnt it down to make way for a new race track. angel The fire could be seen for over a hundred miles.  The concrete Dinosaurs were left behind to scare anyone who didn't like the idea, and can still be seen there today.  The tracks sad closure may have been due to their age.

So what you're saying is that the dinosaurs went extinct because they tried to get out of second gear at Crystal Palace?  Roll Eyes

No, actually the concrete retainers were becoming too costly, and safety was said to be prehistoric.  Then there was the noise . . .

I said, age was a probable factor - also the 'noise', which sounded great to my ears!  This varied between shrieks and various growls, depending on what was loose on the track.  Sadly, it was claimed such things could stand in the way of progress.  There was a move to kill off Motor Sport completely, during the fossil fuel crisis. So the London track closed, and almost all are now silenced. Sad

I can still see Jochen Rindt sliding around in his f2 Brabham showing the all the established drivers how it should really be done .

A really great track and a sad loss to British Motorsport .

Seems the next generation are all destined to play cricket or tennis or (god forbid) golf or some other inoccuous bat and ball game whichever is allowed , of coarse it will have to be on special none slip rubberised surface , just as long as no one can get hurt or disturb the mighty sound of London's Traffic  Huh
