Thanks to whoever did the results. I try to get the tyes right 1st time now, as people seem to notice and
remind me  Roll Eyes
I have gone back to change a car's tyres, but I usually forget which one it was...

There are several people with no flag next to their name. PPlease could you add your nationality to your profile
so it all looks nice and pretty?  Also , Jarda, as you seem to race with us often, could you register so you won't keep
coming up as "Guest Driver" Thanks.

Starting to get the measure of the Pantera now  Grin, it was a bit of a handful at Monza a few weeks ago, but a few setup tweeks made it quite driveable here. Also I only used 4 gears, with plenty of grunt from the motor it made driving the car easier & enabled me to stay in 2nd through all the ess-bends rather than be constantly going up & down between 2nd & 3rd.

Set a new PB in qually with the soft tyres, seemed to be worth a couple of seconds a lap but start to go off after just one flying lap & completely gone after 4 or 5! So used the medium tyres for the race.

Race went well, had Mogget for company for a few laps but gradually managed to ease away. Good pace in the GT40 there Mogg  thumbup1, I had to drive hard to get away. Tyres lasted quite well & only really lost grip in the last 5 laps by which time I had enough of a lead to not have to push them too hard. So very pleased with the result in a car that originally I didn't like too much.

Congrats to Mogget & Ed  clap & well done to GT in 4th & leading the points table & now putting the Kerbies ahead of the fading Soggies  Cheesy.

PS: I notice that several drivers are not affiliated to a team. Us Kerb Crawlers & the Soggy Bottom Racers are quite well represented so maybe some would like to join one of the other teams & make it less of a two horse race for the teams competition.

I have only just realised that the GT40s do not all have the same tyres. I will have to experiment a bit with that Smiley

Well..... If someone fancies joining one of the oldest and more original teams rather than these newcomer upstarts with
wet bottoms or an affiliation with ladies of the night, then PM me and join the more respectable "Team PSEUDO"

Pseudo himself has not been around for some time now, our GTR2 series has a couple of top drivers, and my old
pal Phil Gilliland used to (and who knows may still yet) run in the GTL series, but we are not well represented in PG.

I think you need to give them a stiff talking to John. They go to pieces when you are not around!  surrender

I agree.  All shore leave is cancelled.

It didn't help when my wife found the poling cards at 7:30 either!  I spent half the practice session going to vote!

The only way is up!

On a serious note, is there going to be something in the way my wheel is set up that is making life difficult?  These cars were rotating into a spin before I knew anything about it!  They were just not talking to me.  Would increasing FFB help?

Mind you, the desk took quite a battering as it was!

Manteos is the guru for this stuff. But, I set the steering angle to 15 degs for most cars with my G27
and that makes it mostly ok, for some cars (Pork mostly) I set it a bit lower - like 13 degs

It isn't just the steering angle that matters. It's also the "degrees of rotation" wheel setting. I generally set my G25 to 540/30. Apparently the more accurate figure for the rotation is 900, but that feels totally unnatural to me.

Clive, I presume you are using the PnG ffb which is activated by hitting the "Player" green button on the PnG launcher. This patches your ffb (and some other things) and only needs to be activated once. However if you then alter the ffb setting in-game (the one above the strength slider) it will overwrite some of those settings from the patch altering the ffb. If you want to change the ffb effects setting, use the plr file and change value of "FFB Effects Level"

Many seem to use high ffb levels (set by the slider) but I find this masks most of the subtle information you really need. If you're pulling the top off your desk, you have it set way too high. I find a light ffb of around 35% to 40% is enough depending on car....changing this value in game will not overwrite the ffb setting btw.

As for steering setup, personally I prefer around 700 deg of wheel rotation with anywhere between 23 and 30 steering angle in-game depending on car.

All this takes a bit of adjusting to but for me allows better control.

I thought that you may have had something there regarding the patch because I did have to reinstall PnG a couple of months back.  But I think that all is well.  Much happier in the Cobra at Zandvoort.   Grin

I use 700 degree rotation also, in accoradance with the Manteos guiidelines, but I'm not sure that it does anything for me.

I enjoyed my first race here. I chose the 911 mostly because I had not yet raced with it, and I am a fan of the #59 Brumos Porsche team with Hurley Haywood. I had just enough practice to dial as much understeer into the car as possible, and adjust gear ratios. The first few laps of the race were very nice. There were two other drivers that I was chasing down, but they both had bad luck at different times and gifted me 10th place.

I saw that Mogget asked about Nik - I think that he had side to side contact with someone on the first lap, and his Pantera caught fire. (but I did not see replay, just my memory)

Someone else suggested joining a team - I probably should wait a couple weeks to find out how often I will be able to compete.

On that note, I really hope to join you at the beaches of Zandvoort.

Thanks, Walter

Nik was tapped gently into a spin by Jarda (Who should have waited IMHO) and then was rammed by Massimo as he came over the brow, and went
up in flames. Not good driving guys  nono
