i find these cars great on this track. Only managed about 8 laps praccy so far but it feels great fun and should make for some very close racing. Tyre wear wasnt excessive, though i may look at a harder compound for the race (if ones available). Certainly not sluggish! Not sure if i can make this weeks race yet, will check today.

You know, I would swear on oath that having something like xD installed makes people worry about tyre wear and engine performance a lot more than normal. I have never used xD (or anything like it) in five years of online racing, and I have never experienced any excessive problems with respect to tyre wear or engine damage. In fact, I haven't blown a single engine in a race during that time.

XD is a good tool. I had bad luck with the Team Broadspeed Mini Cooper 1275s #77 - The engine barely lasts 15 laps at Donington Park. But I will agree with you that XD is not needed, and it is more realistic not to have it.

The Mini is one of the cars that requires you to lift when changing up and to make sure that your downshifts are not too aggressive. The Cobra, on the other hand is totally oblivious to the driver's malpractice. I find XD useful to explain why the car has suddenly changed into a monster, rather than looking at it continuously to predict what will happen next.

Nice one Mark.
And at least you will know what car to take!
Don't suppose we shall see Legzy as I haven't spotted a yellow one.

Yeah because tracks always report the correct fuel needed DUH! Add enough fuel for 3 laps (as reported in the setup menu), and test the car until it runs out of fuel. Multiply accordingly to calculate the fuel required for that particular race (plus a bit extra for comfort). Job done.

XD takes the guesswork/testing time out of fuel judgement, sometimes if the tyres are wearing front but not rear in prac I know to give the race setup a bit more front grip as it will go away. It's not needed, but is usefull IMHO
