Different time zone, It was pretty late at night when I wrote it. (EDIT: Sorry about that) TBH, the best time for me to practice is at 6am every morning.

Well that was bloody frustrating. I qualified 2nd, lost two places at the start and then was stuck behind Frex's Ferrari for a number of laps, getting passed by Goldtop, until I got past Frex at the hairpin. I then ran in fourth for a while but completely messed up my pitstop - hit the pitwall, then sat in the pits for two laps while nothing was happening and quit. GRRR.

A frustrating night for many then Crepe start as I had to slow down for someone in front leaving me well back on lap one. Gained a few places as others had mishaps, but then brushed the armco on the exit of Peraltado giving me over a minute and a half of damage. Tried to cancel when it came to pitstop but couldn't, so had to wait for repairs Managed to claw back to 4th and then had a disco halfway around the final lap A real shame as there was some good racing tonight

Chugged round decently enough all night, but managed to be short on fuel so had to concede a place to GT (who I can't understand why he was behind me ) in the last two laps & in the end waited for Clive to lap me . Still, nice to have a pop in the Elan after quite some absence, think I should have tamed the corner entry oversteer a little more as it caught me a handful of times but pretty good overall

Got a stop n go penalty for speeding in the pits. How are you supposed to know what the speed limit is? I was dog slow - not knowing this track and not having much practice. Just got lucky so many others dropped out. My fuel calculations were off using XD. Took some extra fuel at the stop, but it was barely enough to finish.

That was luverly. Thanks to Matt for letting me race on one of my favourite GPL tacks and thanks to John for taking a slow enough car to let me win and then messing up his pit stop to make it comfortable.

Re: pitprobs --> turn off the engine
Yep. i know that. And i know how to turn the engine on and off, and what keys starter and ignition are mapped to. But it seems every pitstop i do in PnG is the same - engine switches off fine, but won't bloody restart again.. Congrats Clive and podium.

...................... in the end waited for Clive to lap me . And I enjoyed that too! Cheers Frex, great fighting with your Ferrari at the start of the race. I find that it's the lack of ignition light that catches me out. If I hit the ingition switch at the wrong time I don't know that it has done nowt! Then I try to start it and it wont and after a while I don't know if I'm switching the darn thing on or off.

You probably know this, but you could try un-mapping the ignition & starter buttons. Then the game stop & start the engine for you.

Got a stop n go penalty for speeding in the pits. How are you supposed to know what the speed limit is?
You can either practise and use the limiter in the pit lane. If you slow down to a crawl there's a speed limit, if you don't there probably isn't. Or use wordpad or similar to interogate the Track.gdb file. You also need to turn the limiter on again when your pit stop crew have finished serving you otherwise you do fall prey to the speed guns. Some tracks have poorly defined limiter on/off locations. But a good pitstop practise session will sort those out. If you setup P&G for an offline race with only your car and no qualy or warmups you can do a real pitstop on every lap until everything is tikety-boo. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the above suggestions - all food for thought. Strange thing is though i can park up and switch on and off at will no problem offline, but come the actual pitstop during the races and something is going wrong. If i can't figure it out un-mapping the keys could be a good idea, thanks for that suggestion john.
