Only done a handful of laps but i was on 1:27's with 40mins race fuel in the 911, so would expect to creep into the 26's at least. Dont forget also, even if the 911 has some decent pace here, its also less forgiving for a spin in action and takes a different driving style to master. I dont remember it having any advantage compared to the rest of the cars at Mallory Park or Charade.
Bit surprised some are reporting slower Alfa times tbh, it normally flys along nicely, as does the escort!

The Escort TC is very slow for me, and I struggle to understand why. Even amongst the 3 fastest FVA (16v) engined cars which appear to have identical spec in the showroom page, i seem to get significantly quicker times in the 2 blue/grey cars compared to the gold/red car. The blue/grey cars have a different tire than the gold/red car.

I know full well that there are different spec Escorts in the TC group, but I am relatively slow (compared to others) in all of them! For the record, I haven't tested anything at this track yet. I am just referring to past experience. Maybe I just need to make a decision to drive one whenever I can, and work it out.....no matter how long it takes?

Hello guys hope its the right thread for my post. My name is Rolf "Magic43" Just and im from Germany. I've read the announcement of your league on the RaceConnect website and i would like join the GPL and Pn&G series if its possible of course Normally i run rfactor at Race 2 Play but i love the old days of Glory so much. There is not many GTL leagues so i was glad to see that RC hosts your series. I would say im a clean driver, not the fastest but constantly. My goal is to finish the race, dont do any stupid move and dont ruin anyones race. The victory isnt the most important for me. Its the fun. My biggest problem is that i dont have any ideas to build setups. I've a good computer and internet (DSL 50000). Ok let me know what you think about my application. If you have still any questions please feel free to ask. Cheers Rolf aka Magic43

I'm slow in the Escorts as well. Also, there seems to be a big difference between the Alfas here, with the 2L car wanting to be driven like a big, heavy car. Still uncertain about car choice - I really like the Porsche best at this track, but unless some fast drivers will take it, I'll use the smaller Alfa probably. Welcome, Rolf!

What a shame. My lack of experience and practice in the Escort TC resulted in me making the mistake of selecting a gear ratio that was too low. I was using the 7/33 gears, and it was maxing out the revs before the end of the long straight. I have to be honest here and say that I completely forgot that there was a danger of blowing the engine. In fact, that is the first engine that has exploded on me in over five years of online racing! On the positive side, I was quite pleased with my progress in the Escort TC. I have been really slow in this car in the past, but I actually felt like I had found some pace in it tonight. I was keeping pace with the leaders over the first few laps until the engine blew apart. So, a negative result, but quite a positive experience. I shall be returning to the Escort TC in the future

I'm an idiot. Threw away second place because I couldn't keep up concentration. I was trying to work out what to do, coming to terms with the fact that I couldn't catch John nor pull away from Ed who was in a slower car, and while contemplating all these things I unsurprisingly spun. Had to let past many people and when back on track promptly spun again. Hit ESC in frustration before I could think about whether I wanted to continue or not.
Jim Clark once said something like 'when I want to go faster, I don't do anything different, I just concentrate harder'. How true.

Great fun. first PnG race in ages. Joined late due to unexpected family visit. Lively early laps following 2 Porshces, with Mogget's Escort close by, 'till it blew up. Got up to P3, and was closing on P2 (but wouldn't have closed the gap before the end of the race I don't think) then realised that despite taking about 5 ltrs more than the setup suggestion, noticed that I was about 10ltrs short to get to the flag . Jumped into the pits expecting a 18sec stop for a quick splash of fuel, and spent the rest of the race watching my car being refuelled :'( . Silly of me, but that's what happens when running late. I was concerned joining the championship at the last round, that I might effect someone's points, so in some ways, finishing as I did was probably the best thing.
