Glad to hear that you are getting back in the groove Syd.
My race was hard work from start to finish. On lap one, I took too much curb at T2 and as a result had Geoffers all over me. To begin with I was able to open up about a one second gap back to Geoffers but he then started to gain a tad. Then we encountered a backmarker. Not sure what had gone on but the two lead cars were back to just a couple of seconds ahead and Geoffers was having a go at me down the straight.
I took the inside line and we exchanged paint and door handles at the hairpin but I managed to stay in front. Not by much and I was greatly relieved when he vanished from my mirrors.
I believe that I had about an eight second gap back to frex but towards the end of the race my car became very difficult to stop in a straight line for the hairpin. I was in this state when I came up to lap Matt with about six laps to go and by my calculations frex wasn't goning to catch me, even at Matt's pace.
So I was content to stay where I was. Then Matt got a tad sideways and I was able to pass without attempting anything brave at the end of the straight.
