Phillipe gets a bit wide at Moss and BB, who is following closely helps Phillipe do a better spin... Phillipe had already lost the back end and BB does try to avoid Phillipe but is just too close to do so.

BB does politely give the place back by taking a picnic at the pit entrance.

Season 25 Privateers Trophy - Round 1 - Mosport

Round 1 of the Privateers Championship for Season 25 finds us at Mosport in Canada. It’s a Papy original so little else to be said.

Mosport held the inaugral Canadian Grand Prix in 1961 and held a monopoly until 1967 when it started alternating with Mont-Tremblant. The 1967 event was won by Jack Brabham who completed 90 laps in 2 hours and forty minutes. We won't race quite as long but if you can match the great man's average speed, you will be doing well.

Race List = IGOR
Server = UKGPL_T7_2
Race date = Sunday 07-07-2013
Time = 21:00 UK time (20:00 GMT)
Track = Papyrus original
Race length = 28 Laps
Variant = 1967
Damage Model = Intermediate
Qualifying time = minimum of 30 minutes

Replays Available here

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

A maximum of one reset is allowed per race & must be followed by a compulsory Stop & Go in the pit lane within two laps of the Reset. If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded.
Incidents should be reported in the usual way.

Please note that for UKGPL has introduced a system of penalties within each series for drivers accumulating yellow cards – see the topic on Penalty Points. Drivers incurring these penalties will receive a PM advising when a penalty has been applied & what race it should served. Shouldn't need to look for a race or two Wink

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated for lap 1 only. For this event the red zone will be the full lap. Other moderation will be on reported incidents only.  However any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

The chassis token system is explained on the Privateers standings page. Please ensure you choose a chassis that is within your budget, which can be seen by hovering the mouse over your points total in the standings.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Ed, yes I think this is the right division for you. It is similar to the F2 Heavy division.

I think the start time is wrong. It says 2100 GMT. Should be 2000 GMT = 2100 BST?

Was enjoying that when my kids decided to have a fist fight that I needed to break up. Not sure if I tagged Phillippe first lap at Moss but I don't think so. I'll look and then did an awful uncontrolled rejoin in front of Dave - sorry mate but I was a passenger.

Shame it finished the way it did. Looking forward to Round 2.

All was going quite well until my screen went black, which I sorted quite quickly, followed by the sound going off which took a bit longer to resolve leading to a few hairy moments and a few lost places. All caused I think by programs opening up in the background. I've just done a complete reinstall and need to do a bit more system tweaking.

The turnout was a bit low for the first race of the series but I suppose it is the holiday season.

No worries,  luckily I had seen you enter at the top so was half expecting to see you popping out of the other end of the chute.
Luckily,  you didn't end up sitting inside a Honda - or rather, it didn't end up sitting inside of you Smiley

What did not help during the race, was the smell of barbeque wafting in through the open windows.  With the resulting rumbling kicking off,  I nearly had to stop to forage for a little mouthful of something.   Still, back in the real world -there was a race (lonesome mostly) that needed attending to.

Anyway, welcome back everybody (who showed up anyway!) you've all earned that cold one tonight.  Admittedly, s25 did suddenly seem to be kicking off rather soon.

Congrats fellow BN'ers.  Full debrief in the post-race meeting as usual.

Cheers,
Dave.

Season 25 Grads was a full five weeks after S24 Grads finished - doesn't seem like it, does it!

Surprised that the turnout was rather low compared with last season, although a few of the Privateers did move up to the Works. (Congratulation to Sky who took a win in his debut race in the Works). The BT24 was working well last night – very consistent – qualified P2, second fastest lap, finished … second (which I’m quite happy with). Andreas in the Lotus deserved the win & once he’d once disappeared after a few laps it was a rather lonely race to the flag. Well done to Andreas & Dave Curtis – with all three podium places occupied by Black Night drivers.
Next up Adelaide – my first season in 67’s I didn’t even start because I was about 3 seconds slower than my 65 time in practice!

It was a bit odd - usually Works has less runners and riders than Privs but it still felt quite racy. Hope more turn up in two weeks time.

I just filed in my registration. I missed the race at Mosport but it shouldn't happen too often in the future since there is only one conflict with the F1Legends championship.

I'm looking forward to seeing your backs on the track !   Grin
