Moderator's Report

No incident on the first lap red zone.
No incident reported.

Everything seems to be perfect ...except I forget to write this in the topic :

*** NOTE***
Ensure that you have the pit wall in place. Those without the pit wall will risk disqualification. Advantage can be gained without it and in particular, drivers should ensure that they know where the pit entry is WITH THE PIT WALL IN PLACE

At least 3 drivers seems to not have this pit wall in place (I only check it during the 1st lap) !

As I forget to mention this note in the topic, no penalty will be given but BEWARE for the next races in Kyalami...

-----------------------------------------------------------------
If you have installed a GFX update that removes the pitwall here is how to get it back for the race;

1. Rename or remove kyalami.trk and kyalami.3do files from your kyalami folder.
That will give you back a wall you can crash your car into , if you want the old papy Armco GFX back for the wall do this;

2. Rename or remove Armco_s.mip

Season 25 Historic Trophy (66) - Round 1 - Kyalami

South Africa, Kyalami. Classic track, long time home of formula 1 in the Southern hemisphere.

The original, sweeping circuit was in use from 1961 until political sanctions eliminated the Grand Prix after the 1985 race. A very quick circuit, it yielded some memorable races. Gilles Villeneuve outfoxed team mate and home driver Jody Scheckter in a wet/dry race in 1979, and Alain Prost raced from the back to win in 1982. By the time the circuit held its last Grand Prix in its original incarnation cars were lapping the track in 1m 02s – 20 seconds faster than in 1967, a lap time in the 1m 02s might not quite be obtainable.

As always, we will run Pro Damage, so resets are not allowed.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Season 25 Historic Trophy (66) - Round 1 - Kyalami
LAP ONE RED ZONE: Full moderation from race start to the exit of Moss.

Does that mean the red zone is for the entire race?
Although I suppose if running PRO damage,  maybe that does not change much?!

Having a great dice with Sky, Dean, David, Dave and Clive until my engine exploded  taz

Pity, some great driving from Sky.  Very clean and fair.  I'm not sure how much longer I could have held you back.  It was only a matter of time before I would have made a mistake and presented you with a chance.  The Ferrari power was my only real defence  laugh

Ask Ronnie about it...after couple laps I completely shunted him off the track in turn 1 and forced him to quit. Really sorry about it, Ronnie... but the braking points of people keep suprising me. After that i was braking 4 car lengts earlier than my usial there and still had some hairy stuations and accedental passes.  In the end the engine blew up with no reason at all... Im starting to hate the 66's, they handle really wierd too. There was also some fun close racing, but my connection was spiking badly almost all the time.

I was enjoying the early laps with the underpowered Eagle and had to keep it pretty much on the limit against the power of the Fezzas etc.

Like Sky, I also got caught out by the earlier braking of cars in front and had a couple of near misses and more that one excursion onto the grass at various corners which lost me a lot of time ( and places!!).

Luckily I only suffered minor damage to the handling and was able to ( more or less) keep things under control to sneak a 5th place by surviving until the end.

grats to Tris and the podium. maybe next time I will choose a more competitive car and not go for the difficult option  lol.

No problem Sky, it can happen to anyone. Grats again on the win in the Works race last Sunday as well.

Well next time just brake 3 car lengths too early and you will be clean through LOL Grin.  We went through T1 and T2 side by side several times; I knew you were there and although I couldn't see you I made sure you had enough room.  Don't be down hearted, IMO your driving was perfect.  You explored the limits of you car and mine for several laps and gave me the opportunity to defend fairly.  You didn't pounce on me at the first opportunity and try to scare me off the track.  Thanks for that I enjoyed the battle.
