Chortle
We have run here a couple of times in the past, possibly in GTL, the fast cars (that you can control) are a great ride here
people tend to go faster than they should, and bend their cars. but a carefull driver will be in the Vanguard
(Or a Riley perhaps.)
Still need some other cars to mix it. One of the Panties will probably fit, maybe a 911 variant, a fast Vette?
PM me some times if you get chance do a few laps in different cars?  thumbup1

Two cars added. Panty BOSS is fast but tricky as it want to slide everywhere, The Vette is a nutter car, potentially fastest, but a handfull.

this track will be mayhem in these cars! It's fun to actually string a good lap together, but with lots of chaps around struggling to keep their feet down and their cars pointing in the right direction on a narrow track lined with hard bits of scenery ...

I've driven all of the cars now. As usual, I can't drive big American cars, no luck in the GT40 (understeers everywhere) and the Corvette (oversteers until it understeers). The Pantera feels good until you look at the lap times. Porsche feels twitchy but is fast if driven with a light touch. I will stick with the Porsche.

Not that it matters, given that I'll most likely crash out on lap 1. At least I'll be back racing!

Well we had 13 starters and 2 finishers last time we were here in PnG laugh A bit of caution on the opening laps and especially that first hairpin I reckon Wink

Glad there's some pork on the menu or I'd be struggling tank

Yep. THIS IS A CAR BREAKER
Ok  Wink

This track is always a test of patience, remain calm and you will finish, unless you are a victim of someone else's
tragedy, and..... you can stack the odds in your favour by not sticking your nose where it might get bent
and try to keep out of trouble, it is nowhere like as much of a crash fest as the Green Hell.
For me the GT40 is an "easy more likely to finish" option. Don't take the Vette unless you are really comfy with it
and the Panty is probably faster than the GT40 but is very slidey.

If you crash out, it's probably goint to be your fault. Take special care to not get tangled up with a mess
as stated particularly at the hairpin lap 1, please be cautious there, if someone does a banzai charge up the inside
let them, and then carefully drive around the carnage they will create  Roll Eyes

I found this track  great fun in these cars, the nearby scenery wizzes past, it great stuff. do some practice
and avoid the lamp posts etc, and will be an exhilerating event  angel

We could always do a rolling start for a change like the GTR2 chaps do...

Thats a good idea, eliminate some of the grid before the race starts!!!!. Seriously that may be a good idea as it will spread the field out a bit before the opening corners & give everyone a bit more room.

Don't see the point in doing a full blown UKGTR style formation start as everyone will still arrive at the hairpin full tilt. Also there is no pit limiter to control the pace over the line as we do in UKGTR.

If we don't fancy a standing start, maybe just have formation start up to exit of first hairpin as that might limit any potential for mayhem.

Not fussed either way  Undecided

formation, or even single file - same situation as in F1 when the safety car has pulled away and the leader controls the pace. No overtaking until after hairpin, after that the race is on.  On the other hand, that requires everybody to be aware of the rule which cannot be guaranteed

I have no problem with a standing start and think that we should resist the temptation to mess about with things.

The track is beautiful, to look at, and I am having great fun sliding the big Vette about whilst I have the track to myself.  I don't think that the track is any good for racing and suspect that that the Vette is beyond my capabilities once you throw in a few Porsches, all trying to climb into its door pockets on the way into any corner.

Then don't take it.

It's a great track for racing if people behave themselves and respect it.
I have had some great races here. Keep dissing it and you will frighten everyone away.
Have to say I am rapidly losing interest in this job.

LOL

You are doing a great job Matt but, even to cheer you up, I can't say that this is a good track for racing.  It's a good track for waiting for the bloke in front to hit something solid.  And then hope that you can miss the debris.

My dilemma with the Vette is that I prefer it over the GT40, on the first half of the lap but after the hairpin at the end of the back straight I prefer the GT40.

Visually, the track is better than a trip to the Adriatic as I don't need to get on a plane or drive for miles.
