For what it's worth, I found myself passing Silverstone, the week before Goodwood, during one of those strange non-rainy days imported from the continent. There was a race meeting under way, so I was doubly lucky, and stopped to watch. It was the first action I've seen there firsthand, since the GP of '89!
Unlike Goodwood, I recognized almost nothing. It's become a baron landscape of gravel, concrete and catch fencing, without much regard for spectator viewing. Cars are not very loud, or very sideways, and were not very close by.
I continued home, without watching the last race. I do believe a rainy day with Goodwood Historics, beats modern racing with full Sunshine.
