another incident where the guilty party has acknowledged their mistake :o)
Nicky follows David through T1 and carries a little more speed allowing him to go for a pass before T2.
Nicky closes the gap...Nicky pulls out from behind David....Nicky uses his extra speed to cruise past David..... and then attempts to get back on the racing line too early. :o(
An innocent David is swiped onto the grass.

Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h01m45s

Dean closes too quickly on Nicky under braking for T1 and loses control of his BRM which performs a smoking spin on the racing line, presumably in anattempt to either obscure his mistake or to send up a smoke signal to those following.
Unfortunately David is fast approaching and committed to his line through T1 and cannot avoid the BRM road block. Neither driver can be accused of being at fault and both drivers are able to recover and continue.

Season 25 Friday Trophy - Rounds 9 & 10 - Nivelles

We are still in Belgium but this time at a circuit that has been used very occasionally by UKGPL, but this one offers a little more in the way of corners and height changes. A word of caution about T1...it is very easy to get over excited and launch yourself over the crest where you will quickly discover that your tyres are not transferring any braking effect against the air!!! The faster cars like the Can Ams might be at risk here lol!!  Roll Eyes
But the first 2 races for Friday 9th  are as always, the F2's and the 69x's which should both be well suited to this track.

PLEASE READ THIS. IT EXPLAINS THE FORMAT THAT THIS 40 RACE SERIES WILL USE.

Please refer to the list of tracks on the "Announcements" page for the Friday Trophy.

This is really designed to be a fun series with 4 different car mods running 2 sprint length races each Friday.
This week will be F2's and 69X
In each category there is a choice of 4 cars for drivers from the Heavy brigade, but the Lights will be limited to a choice of 2 cars. ( see the list below)
We step up from the F2's and the 69x's to the GT's and Can Ams. Around this track outright power and handling tend to balance out, so it will be an interesting pair of races for everyone I hope.

The first race this week will  be F2 and the first qually session will start at approx 20:45 for 20mins. Race starts at approx 21:05
The second race will be for 69X with another 20minute qually and a 25 minute race.

There is a single S/R allowed and you DO NOT need to perform a Stop and Go. It would be nice if those who cause an accident allow the innocent victims to regain their position when you rejoin the racing.

These cars are for the first half of the season including the races at MOON. There will be different sets of cars for the second half of the season.

So, the last 2 cars are for the Lights and the Heavies can chose any car from the list of 4 if they wish. Please be honest and choose a car that suits your ability. The aim is to have some very close racing.

Cars for F2            Brab BT23 and Lotus 48,               Cooper and Ferrari

Cars for 69X          Lotus 49b and Matra MS80        Mclaren M9A and BRM P126/139

Cars for GT           Chap 2F Porsche 910                Mirage M1 and Ford Mk2B

Cars for Can Am     Mclaren M8D and Lola 260         Porsche 917/10 and Ferrari 712M

If it proves that the handicap for the lights is too harsh in any of the categories, I might consider changing the cars, but let us wait and see how things work out. I suspect that the Lights will still be quick.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

The race will be run under intermediate rules and a single reset is allowed. Races WILL be moderated for reported incidents only unless there is something VERY BAD happening!! so be nice to each other. Wink

Regrettably I will not be around for this Friday's fun in the F2's and 69's.

Instead please spare a thought and think of me suffering on Friday as I have to endure a slap up meal and quite large amounts of alcohol at a friend's birthday in rural Essex.  Undecided
followed by a Saturday evening of EVEN MORE alcohol at his party in the grounds of his village home with rock band and more food...........sigh drool Gee life is tough sometimes!!  Roll Eyes

If I survive this annual fest, I will(should) be back home on Sunday evening............................whether or not I will be fit or able to take part in Sunday's race is not certain. Each year I find that my body takes longer to recover from these wild excesses  wheelchair but I try my best.  shifty

All cash donations for my aftercare should be made to the Evil home for the alcoholically challenged, or alternatively you can send more alcohol via DHL to keep me topped up.  Cheesy

I would imagine Clive that the other guests at the party will be quite oblivious to the sim racing legend in their midst which will give you the freedom to go about the business of quaffing ale without constant requests for autographs and photos.

Its not the autograph hunters that annoy me, it's those people who ask what the time is and I turn my wrist to look at my watch..........................I waste soooo much good ale!!! Undecided

Hi Nicky - I installed the track, and noticed you have to glance right to see the starters flag.  It is only just visible, as he stands realistically at the startline.  Maybe see you there as I hope to race. Cool

This track is horrible with the 69X !
The turns are very narrow and close each other!
It looks more difficult than Monaco  Sad

with the corner radius and length, even with lots of wing you are barley going fast enough to get any benefit, maybe low wing will be better. this one is tricky in 69x. cant make it tonight anyway, no wheel, I know Tom will be disappointed  Grin cu all next time
