Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h00m48s

Ronnie broke his engine on the grid at the start.
Several drivers (including me) behind him tried to avoid Ronnie's car but Francesco violently hit my car.
As Francesco was starting from last position in a such difficult track, he shoud have been more cautious, particularly at the start.

Server replay time: 0h27m02s

Rainier hit Tristan's car, leader of the race.

Server replay time: 27h06m00s

As a consequence of the rear end shunt committed by Rainier, Tristan lost several seconds but he very badly rejoin the track, at the moment Clive arrived.
Even if it is always sad to lost the 1st position in such circumstances (rear end shunt made by another driver), this should not happen.

Appallingly Bad Rejoin : penalty of 3 places but reduced to 2 due to the circumstances.

Have a great time with the streets/sights/smells at Monaco chaps.  Can't make it myself as I'll be at (well near come that time of night) Peppa Pig world... SNORT!

But I'll undoubtedly be looking at my watch at some point during the session & wishing I was sliding into a barrier somewhere Wink

Cheers,
Dave.

Ok, good!  So I don't have to worry about the Litres and metres then, because in '66 we were de-metricated backyard mechanics, and I'd probably put my foot in it. Angry

Bad luck Ronnie - some are destined for accolade and calamity in equal proportions.  Mediocre is boring! Cool

My race started well enough.  A close battle for the first lap, put me into 3rd, and with only nine tenths to go!  I was seated in the lightweight Lotus, but there was a problem - during practice I'd broken the chassis, and the seat had become a spineless platform.  There was no time to fix my previous fix, so this put me in a fix!

The car must've been lighter after the bit fell off, because it was looking quite good, up until I almost fell off, and a wheel fell off.  Which meant we fell off the leader board on lap 4. Angry

If anyone has a welding torch I can borrow, I'll get re-seated for the next off?'

At first i tought i made a monster start, than realised that car in front is not moving Shocked
Squeezed thru undamaged but fell to about 8th.
Which became 4th in the space of a few laps as maddogs battle for 3rd quickly destroyed itself.

Feeling lonely, i made few mistakes and happily got Andreas for company from behind.
He made some pressure, so i gracefully clobbered some straw and let him past.

Than i pressed him a bit, so he very ungracefully spun at Casino.
Decided to try braking, rather than sidewalk climbing.
Braked down to 54 kmh and than we gently touched front wheel to front wheel.
Andreas was doing 58 kmh at that moment, so gpl decided to shed my front wheel and leave him undamaged and facing right direction again.

Wondering if he would've lost a wheel if i was doing 59 kmh?
No matter anyway, it was all good fun while it lasted  Smiley

After that wached Clive/Tristan battle for the lead.
They had one interesting moment at Gasometre which reminded me of Schumacher/Villeneuve at Jerez 97.
I bet Tristan can imagine what went thru Schu's head in that moment  Roll Eyes

Congrats to all finishers, but most impressive to me was Ivan S who showed how you can finish on the podium at Monaco by keeping your enthusiasm in check.

Engine blew on start line, sorry to anyone behind me. Good luck all.

I made a gap to avoid the crash with you ...unfortunately Francesco Molteni violently rear ended me !
My car was not really damaged but I lost 10-15 seconds.

I quickly rejoin Francesco and made the full race behind him with no possibility to overtook until he blew his engine ! (as he rearended me at the start, I was hoping he let me pass ...but since Senna and Schumacher we all know this could not happen with "new generation" racers Smiley  )

Sorry for this.Since i was the last i was also surprised from your slow start.Only later i have understood why ,but all happened in less than a second.

I have not realized  the severity of the "rearended" and also that was your car.I was convinced that the rear ended was very soft and my action was mainly on the right of your car.Since my age is not green, the "new generation racer" is not appropriate and in many other races i have suffered the same without receiving the position lost.
I repeat that in my memory the incident was not so serious,i must check in the replay to realize what was happened. Repeat also that I have not realized that was your car ,so when you have rejoined me due to one my error, why i had to think to give back the position to you?
So to show you that i'm not you think about me ,i'm available to give up to the point of this race and also to retire my car from the Historic.

I can't help feeling that any contact going on behind me was due to my blown engine on the start line, sorry again guys. I hope you don't quit the series Francesco.
