Season 25 Friday Trophy - Rounds 13 & 14 - Zolder

We continue our tour of the low countries. Another track in the Netherlands

Zolder was built in 1963 but it didn't host the Belgian Grand Prix until 1973.  Zolder hosted the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix on 10 separate occasions in the 1970s and 1980s.  But when Spa Franchorchamps was significantly revised and the safety standards vastly improved the Grand Prix returned to it's original home and Zolder fell out of favour.

This round is for the GT's and Can Ams.

Once again some great racing to be had in cars I normally don't usually enjoy driving. Few extra bumps and scrapes in the second race but despite an eventual blown engine still good fun. Grats to all who raced tonight and see you all at the next round.

A nasty understeer Gremlin crept into the track, and picked my cars to work on - both of them.  He wasn't around earlier, and these short practice sessions gave less time to undo his work.

Ignored the warnings 1st race - not a good idea.  Last minute fix for 2nd race, and survived beyond half way! Tongue "Grumble."  I must request a  batch of 'Gremlinitis,' which attacks and kills only Gremlins, instead of GPL drivers. Angry

I was under pressure for these races. Not from the other competitors, but from my wife!!

We are off on 2 weeks holiday to deepest Cornwall and I was hoping to hide under her radar and complete both races shifty

But, I was summoned during the qualifying for the Can Ams and had to obey...I hate pain  Undecided

The GT race was great fun despite throwing my Mk2B off at T1 and spinning on the S/F straight which dropped me to last place. Hope that the Can Ams were just as enjoyable.

You will have to struggle on without me for the next 2 weeks... yes I know, you will all miss me and find it difficult to enjoy your racing without my car on the grid  Roll Eyes I'm sorry but apparently I HAVE to take this holiday. Life is tough but someone has to do these things yes
