I haven't tested, but I would like to suggest adding the Zakspeed Escort to this group.

I will do some testing when I get back from my holidays. If someone wants to post some times including Walter's suggestion that would be most welcome

Well if it's ideas you want, can we chuck out the BMW and the Porsche?

I will have a play with the escorts this weekend, some lovely ladies doing that job on Lord Street. I left the escorts out because they seem to get a lot of events as it is, but if one or another fits well that's no reason to not have one there I guess.

I think Walter means the new (Zakspeed) Escorts that were introduced in P&G 3.1. These have 2.0 litre engines, rather than the 1.8 engines in the existing Escorts & are quite a bit faster. They should be quite competitive with the Capris etc. on this twisty track.

SBRC testing suggests that the Escort is about three seconds a lap slower than the Capri and BMW.

Ah, thanks SBRC for testing. I'll have to look for another opportunity to race the Zakspeed. Meanwhile, my wife informed me that we have other plans Oct 31st. I'll have to sit this one out. Good luck to my fellow WSL Racing Teammates! As Geoffers pointed out in another web forum, Europe sets the clocks back this weekend. Any country that does not do that this weekend will need to double check the starting time. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.htmlSBRC testing suggests that the Escort is about three seconds a lap slower than the Capri and BMW.

I am not absolutely certain I will make the race, Walter. I am off to Scotland early the following morning, and I may want a nice, relaxed evening before that!

Two days to go and I see that this place is awash with the usual banter, quick wit and repartee.

Been away for a few days but quite agree Clive, pre race thread banter appears to have disappeared lately Why don't you get the ball rolling and tell us what times your setting in the fastest car available? I want to know how many secs behind I am in my favoured RSR (which is great fun to drive here by the way!) I can see me being all over the capris and beemers in the twisty sections and then left for dead down the home straight

Capris? Who let those in? Bimmers and RSR seem pretty well matched but a Capri will be hard to beat especially if all the quick drivers jump into them (as I'm sure most will ) The RSR is good fun as always, but from past experience here I have already reserved my place in the gravel at the final corner. Mid 44s in race trim is the best I've done so far.
