Details of what's been fixed can be found here

Update available here in the Downloads section.

NOTE: You will have to wait for our server to be updated before you use this for online racing here. Suggest that you download it but do not run until Matt confirms the server is ready. Watch this space.

Maybe a 3.1 test race after the scheduled Spa one Matt?

Why so long? The update is a 20 minute download even on my glacial connection and appears to be a very quick and painless install process.

I'm with goldtop, I also race at gamers crib on a Tuesday so may need to update straight away. Can't really have two different versions installed.

Good to hear there's an update  Smiley

Sure, the download is easy and it's ready to go but it has to be Matt's call when it gets applied. There is also a potential difficulty as we are in the process of changing to a new server. Whether this has an impact or not I cannot say.

Fair enough...I appreciate the cautious way we do things here.

I couldn't wait and have installed it  laugh angel The good news is that there is an uninstaller included which presumably reverts to v3.0 so I shouldn't miss any races here.

The even better news is that from first impressions it's a major step up in what was already a great mod. The ffb has been tweaked feeling even more connected than before and the new Escort is a blast  Cool

A minimum one week notice of the changeover would be good.

So that we don't waste time sorting setups for the wrong version.

Guys

I am away (tenerife) on Holiday for the next week, I will probably be back for the Thursday after.
I suggest we plan/announce that we will run the upgrade (subject to bugs) that event?

Sorry Matt, I didn't quite understand:

Will we be delaying a league event to have a test race or will we be just throwing it straight into league action?

Are you saying the first PnG3.1 race will be on the 17th Oct (currently Spa league race) or the 24th Oct (currently Bridgehampton league race)?

I am "suggesting" the 17th, assuming there can be some testing before that.
I am not here, so can't do anything myself untill Weds 16th at the earliest.

As I am not here I must throw myself on the good nature of members  Roll Eyes
If the whole world except us is already gone over to 3.1, then we could
do it. Me being away is no reason to put everything on hold.
If the majority want to go to 3.1 this week (for the race) then do it I would say.
Picnic has allready  updated the new server (where did that one come from?) Shocked

Just to confirm/clarify

The next P&G race at Crystal Palace will be using P&G 3.0.

We hope to have our new server up and running P&G 3.1 in time for the race at Spa on the 17th October. Some teething problems have been thrown up so we feel it prudent to delay for one week.

If any of you hear of any difficulties with 3.1 from other leagues can you please post here.

We are hoping to avoid running a test event.

Those of us that do not use English as a primary language have to go to the folder "*[PnG]\UIData\PnG_EXTRA_MENU_FILES\dictionary_files". Select the desired language, and rename the respective file as Game.dic

Now copy that Game.dic file and paste it into the folder "*[PnG]\UIData", and overwrite exhisting file when prompted.

It's done! ....run the game and enjoy it.

Problem with delaying this a week is you may now lose 4 or 5 drivers from Thursdays race as we have updated to 3.1 to be able to race in the GC p&g league. So presume you'd lose me, geoffers, Walter, Frex and moggett at least  Undecided

That's solved the grid overcrowding problem then!   Grin
