Unlikely thanks Tony  Undecided Even if I get things hooked up, I know Solitude from GPL races and it is not somewhere to "learn" about new cars and physics, and certainly not around people involved in serious racing!!

I have got GTR up and running ( did the bit about wupping the a** of the instructor around Anderstorp...what a wimp!!) but the PnG part is causing me grief.

It appears that I need PnG v3.1, but the download page says that I need to install v3.0 first?  However I get to about 99% of installing v3.0, option 1 with GTR being copied across ( several times) and I get an error message about "unable to complete" and the installation shuts down and quits. I did try and stuff v3.1 into it anyway but it won't accept v3.1...........any ideas where I am going wrong.

I just  :thumbdown:knew Loynes was lying!!!  Undecided

Having just beaten PnG into submission this morning and read a few reports of the race, I think I was right not to get involved at Solitude or maybe a few more competitors would not have made it around the first lap Roll Eyes scared

So,  HA! to Loynes, your sneaky plan to challenge my lousy computer skills almost succeeded, but you reckoned without my dogged perseverance, my baseball bat and my bucket of water.
Now PnG is exposed to sideways driving and long streaks of rubber...muhahahahahah! and it will all be your fault, don't say that you did not know what was coming!!  shifty

Also found my way to the internet lobby, but thought it more prudent to resist joining any of those servers until I have at least driven a few laps somewhere.

I will move my endless questions and queries to the PnG forum from now on and avoid cluttering up this GTL area. There will of course be more questions about GTL here , but I can't do it all at once  Grin

If you had picked one of the easier roller skates you could have started your PnG account with a class win!

This is just too weird..  Huh Huh

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the track and cars.  Then went to test some of the latter, without any problems (except the first Lola not working).

Came back today to continue, but now I seem to be missing half the track graphics!  The forest is gone; all that's left are naked tree trunks:

I have tried the following; all without any effect:

- Exited and reloaded track

- Loaded up another track, then returning to Monza

- Restartet game

- Reinstalled track

- Verified all video/detail settings being maxed out

- Shut down all other programs

- Restartet PC

Can anyone offer any possible explanation for this - and how does the track look for you guys ?

Just noticed: In my screenshots, the trees are visible in the rear view mirrors!

Cheers,
Erling

Don't suppose you upgraded a video driver?

Can you run the Graphics Configuration program again.

Thanks for replying Tony.

No, haven't - intentionally - changed a thing.

Tried the configuration as suggested, but it didn't help.

As I may have a failing videocard, I wonder if this problem is a result of that.  Will try looking at some other tracks to see if they're affected too.

Cheers,

The plot thickens...

Just tried replays on Le Mans 1970, Nordschleife Tourist and Snetterton.  All looked normal.  Then looked at one from Monza, and now all was back to normal!  Huh

If it shows up again, I will try the other tracks once more.  I'm leaning on the videocard being the culprit, so better speed up my process of picking which one to replace it with.

Cheers,
Erling

Bugger all..

Problem showed up again when I entered GTL once more, after hooking up my wheel again.  Replays on Le Mans and Nordschleife still looked okay - until PC crashed with blue screen.  Went back in after reboot.  Now Nordschleife also lacked graphics parts.  Reloaded the replay, which was now back to normal.  Then did some testing on Monza, which also looked normal again.

Safe to say something is seriouly screwed up.  Will try to acquire a new video card before the race.

Cheers,
Erling

Probably the safest option

The practise server is running and except for Thursday and Sunday nights, it will continue until Race night when the entry password will be changed.

Please do not leave it until Race night to discover you have a problem as I will not be able to do much to help you.

You should test using the practise server, have an idea about which car your going to take, and know how much fuel you want for both qualy and the race.

You should also fully read the first post in this thread (the race announcement).

New video card is in the mail, so with luck I should have it tomorrow.

Fingers crossed it solves my problems.. yes
