I love this place, but I can't remember ever finishing  Embarrassed
Always up for a try though.  scared
I will be in whatever car is the most stable and easy to drive, you can romp away down the straight in your 917 MJ
but I will wave to you when you are up a grassy bank  Grin

If I'm up a grassy bank it's because I pulled over for a cup of tea waiting for you to turn up  Grin

No time for practicing. Not at home most of the weekend.

But of course I'll give it a try  Grin
Eeeekkks. That will get you killed around here Tongue  But it seems you know the way around here "Eifelblitz" Wink

I've never driven there in real life (only with my bicycle over 30 years ago  Tongue) but I live one hour from there
and visited the Nordschleife for more than 100 times, so I should know the track...

Forgot how tough this track is. It's a tad different to modern versions of it so some corners were unfamiliar. I only know upto the first carousel quite well then the odd corner sequence further round and I've driven it for real!  Shocked
Awesome in these cars though  Cool after a few laps I expected to see oil grimed goggles on my face, I got so immersed  thumbup1

Trick to survive here is just drive at 8/10ths or less or you will never finish unless you happen to have done 200laps of the place and know every corner!  Tongue

Been having a few problems with my dfgt pedals so spent the afternoon dismantling pots and cleaning them up. All good now and thankfully no more sticky throttle as that wouldn't have been good around here  Shocked

Haven't done any laps since I sorted out my car choices for this season so I might try to get some in later.

Anyone under 8 minutes yet?

Besides yourself you mean ?  Wink

My pb so far is 8:07, in a Lola.  If I tried a 917, I could conceivably knock 7 secs off this and break the 8-minute barrier - providing I could keep from going into orbit, which is unlikely..  Grin

Cheers,
Erling

I'll just be trying to finish so obtaining a fast lap isn't so much of a priority for me. Good luck to you fast fella's

I'm behind you two at least then  Sad been out all weekend so didn't get any more laps in. Plus I'm in the feisty little iconic 908-3  Cool which is suspect is losing out on the long final straight sector to the big gun cars. Oh well, I enjoy driving it here  Smiley

Have track and cars loaded on my Season 14 system and can drive them OK but have had problems getting things sorted (see separate Forum under General UKGTL discussion).  Not driven GTL for about a month so not really the track or cars to start with again.

I've spent too long trying to sort out GTL from scratch and carried on like a dog with a bone for too long – need a complete break from GTL to clear my mind.  Will check in tonight to see all works OK but won't race but have early night.  Planning to be back racing again at Pembrey, shorter track to relearn and simpler cars to drive - probably drive the Anglia again.

Had so many attempts to register GTL On Line that I finally am registered as Will Thomas - Will short for William hence simply Bill previously, tried so many Bill Thomas variations I eventually went to Will Thomas for change.   Grin
