One of my favourite tracks and I really enjoyed taking the Alfa for this one. Found qualifying to be one of the best sessions in this series as so many drivers were within seconds of each other. A bit disappointed that Roger didn't allow me to regain my place after his love tap at Texaco-Schikane on lap one, nuff said   nono.
Still I enjoyed chasing the pack and trying to keep up with the fast guys. Came across that bad accident at Jochen-Rindt-Kurve whilst I was trying to pass Geezer and only narrowly avoided a full on hit into Matt's car. Just clipped him but judging by the replay, his car had recently received some harder knocks than the one he received from me.
Remainder of the race was hot lapping and trying to reel in Roger but he kept up his pace right to the end.
Nice turnout, good to have Geezer back with us.

I was 8th at the ring, but scored nothing. I was 10th somewhere else and I dont show in the championship?
I'm missing something.

You were classified DNF at both the 'Ring and Monza under the "no laps complete" rule:
  • A driver who does not complete at least one lap will not be classified.

Had troubles with my ISP so with half an hour to spare i got connected...pffff

Took the AR Tipo for this one with a setup my teamie MJ made for Imola. After some tweaks it went well here, dispite a lack of power against the fast Lola's.

Had a good start and it was a great battle with a lot of cars running closely. Erling was on my case and passed me when i outbraked myself. Also Tony, Roguk and Geeza blasted past. After some good battles managed to get up to 2nd or 3rd. Then i went in too hot into the last long right hander and got a tap from the car behind who probably didn't expected me to go slowly. Tried to let the car freewheel out of the racing line while restarting the engine, unfortunately i was still in the way of an Alfa on race pace and we had quite a big crash.

I believe it was Matt (still have to look at the replay), but whoever it was; sorry for being in your way.
I am not having any luck in this series. Still loving these cars though! (and you guys of course Tongue)

Ahh, thanks Dave I hadn't realised that no laps = no points.
Was a fun race as far as it went. I went right at the start to keep clear of the car in front
and got in someone's way  wheelchair Then caught Coyote after he had just passsed me I think, and misjudged how much faster the Alfa
was in corners compared to his and shunted him off, really sorry for that I was trying my best to not
lose momentum and not make contact. Waited and we set off again, came round the final turn and could
see an incident in front, so kept tight to avoid, but one of the cars rolled towards the inside and I bent
my suspension with the bump, car was all over the road, and was trying to get round to the pits when it
went over a wall and health went 0 Game over, ah well.

Just back from a hernia operation..  Smiley

Prepared extensively for this race.  With GT running 1:40 laps, I thought I had pole in the bag, when I dipped into the low 1:39s. That was presumptuous however, as he managed to find a few more 10th, to snatch it from under my nose.  Very well done in the Lola, GT!

Had practiced starting on cold tyres and full tank repeatedly offline, but right after qualy on a lighter fuel load, the much different handling characteristics of the 917 with a full tank still caught me out.  Thus my first lap was a very wobbly affair, and I lost two places, dropping to 4th.

Regained 3rd, when Postal went off, and very briefly was in 2nd, when I passed Matt. A tap from him a couple of corners later send me sideways onto the grass. Lost my way momentarily, and ended up on the wrong side of the barrier. Fortunately, there wasn't any collision detection on it, so I could drive straight through, rejoining in 5th.

Passed Roger when he went off, and then made an inside move on Geezer, when exiting the Jochen-Rindt-Kurve. In 3rd then, chasing after Postal. A couple of laps later, he went wide when entering that same curve, and I saw an opportunity to pass him on the inside.  Just as I was about to do so, his car suddenly veered right, straight across my pass - possibly a result of hitting the barrier.  Didn't have time to react, so couldn't avoid contact, which spun him round.  That led to the unfortunate chain reaction of colliding cars, with two retiring.

Truly deeply didn't want any more incidents with Postal. Lately it seems we can't be in a race together, without colliding at some point.  Sad  Was in 6th after the incident.  Took some deep digging to find motivation to continue racing, but I eventually clawed my way back up the field, to finish 2nd. Gap to GT was greatly reduced towards the end, so might have had an interesting finish, if I hadn't lost so much time earlier  Smiley

Cheers,
Erling
