UKGPL Season 25 - Pro Trophy - Race 7 - Schottenring Schottenring. It is long, it is tough, lots of fast corners with one or two that can trip you up if you are not careful. There is a lot to remember so you will need to put some praccy in for this one if you don't want to end up in the trees. As the senior division with the best drivers, drivers have a free chassis choice. Once a chassis is selected, a driver should stay in that chassis for ALL races. There will be no other handicapping for this series. There will be full moderation of lap one Red Zone and reported incidents for the rest of the race. Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race. Full time drivers have priority access to the server until 21.00 UK time. Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.Division Moderator | = | Badblood | Race List | = | IGOR | Server | = | UKGPL_8 | IP Address | = | tba | Race date | = | 05-11-2013 | | Qualification Time | = | ~20:45 UK time -> 30-45 min | Race Time | = | race starts at 21:30 UK time | Track | = | Schottenring -> schotten | Variant | = | 65F1 the 2.02 Release of the 65mod should be used | Damage Model | = | PRO | Race length | = | ~50 min -> 9 laps | RED ZONE | = | to the exit of the Moufang-Kurve | Password | = | see above | Replay | = | you will get here |

If you managed to start the sixth lap, you got a podium (says guy who crashed out half way thru 5th lap ) Grats to finishers, if any, and podium.

Was enjoying this one. Had got up into 4th after some unavoidable contact in the first lap had seen me fall down the ranks to the back. But some brave moves and a courteous fellow driver letting me by brought me into a favourable spot. I had only started practicing this last night for 30 minutes and then this evening for an hour before qually. So I was quite chuffed I stuffed all the kinks and character of the road into my head But then into the 3rd or 4th? lap my screen started melting. I saw primary colours and cracks of flickering colours around the screen. It went into a movie like frame. Even though I could still see the track I thought it best to slow and get out before I did any more damage to the graphics card. That 4th place will have to wait for another day. But i must say i loved this track. Never raced it before. Very quick and challenging.

I get the feeling this race is going to be a case of last idiot standing... Commiserations to those who fell by the wayside. But congratulations to those who finished, well nearly finished in some cases. Grateful to pick up the win with Jethro crossing the line for second. Watching Norm destroy his car on the last lap with the line so close I thought he had thrown third away and I bet he did too! But Fran then had the misfortune to run off track with no way back, probably not knowing he had third in the palm of his hand. Well done anyway to both of you. See you all at the next one.

Well, I said it was last idiot standing, and that proved to be Ronnie and myself who were the only two finishers of the full 9 laps, some 40 seconds apart (me behind him) as I tried my best to destroy the Honda SHE had so perfectly crafted from the anchor and was watching from afar with several high (and low-ish) speed wall taps plus an excursion around the outside of the wall at Schotten-curve.
I was frankly amazed to see so many fall off, and equally amazed that despite my best efforts and close shaves the car stayed (mostly) straight and true to finish. Tough race though!

Sorry Clive for the mess I made after a 360° spin The server has no replay saved! If anybody has saved a replay, it would be nice to post it here.

I read now that NHance has the same mine laps.I have had an irrecoverable exit at half of the last lap.Mean this that i have lost the improbable possibility to do a 3 place in the Professionals Trophy?

I had practiced this track on & off since the beginning of the season expecting a high drop out rate but due to circumstances I hadn't been on GPL for a week & this track for over 2 weeks so was a bit rusty & it showed. Just wanted to cross the finish line really so was dissappointed I crashed on the last lap when I was very jittery. Sat watching the finish line expecting Fran to come through but he didn't. Watched the race result page waiting for it to change dropping me to 4th but it didn't. Amazing. It was me who let Andy through after his first crash dropped him to last as there was no point in resisting the inevitable & possibly a crash. Well done the top 2 & comiserations to Fran. One of us had to be unlucky.

One of us had to be unlucky. Your third place is anyway merited, you was more fast than me.I had and exit at the S of the house and the car was without damage but immobile. where was you accident Nhance?I have not seen you nor yellow flag, so i think was after the house. Anyway was the only one opportunity to gain the third place for me,trow away in the attempt to do the my best lap. I must say that the endurance tactics give results

I crashed near the end of the lap in the village of Rudingshain & car burst into flames. Exited game immediatly so you would not see any yellows by the time you got there Fran.

Sorry Clive for the mess I made after a 360° spin The server has no replay saved! If anybody has saved a replay, it would be nice to post it here. No problem Axel. It would have been much wiser of me to hold back and play safe, especially on this circuit!! I know the reputation of this track and I had used a very "safe" Honda setup with a game plan of waiting for others to drop out. But, once the racing starts and the red mist descends......................... Grats to Ronnie, Jethro and Norm and anyone else who made it ( or almost made it!) to the end.

I'm not a connoisseur of this track but i think that is the same place of my error. If someone recover the replay i'm curious to see it. P.S if looking the replay i discover that my exit is due to the oil or smoke originate from your incident,I will just present complaint
