Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

After a few laps in in the FR cars my best time's 2:00.5, so I'm guessing the quick guys will probably be pushing the 1:57-1:58s here. Alarming, since the current lap record 1:58.1 was set in a GT40! Shocked

Anyone else finding the Escort to be porpoising like crazy here? I've tried everything setup wise and it's unmanageable on the straights.

Didn't bother me when I tested it here Tibs  Huh but I did find it one of two slowest around here. My best time in the car I'm using is 2:02.

It might just be unsettling me, and therefore my lap time, rather than the car. It's certainly visible in third person view though. Could just be I've got the wrong suspension settings though.

As promised.. especially for Erling  ;  Update Monday morning.. at work, sun shining.......should be doing other things but..... Roll Eyes when you are the boss there are some perks  Wink

First practice session of 30 mins around this track tonight, which is new for me and I tried 3 cars, so about 10 mins with each.

Escort.. best lap 2:02 Reduced to 2:01, but that is about on the limit for me         used my Silverstone set up but it needs some work.
BMW.....best lap 1:59  This car is so fast and smooth for me that I feel I will be wasting it here, so prob won't use it  used my Montreal setup and tweaked the gears a little. feels like it has more pace if i can get my lines and braking points sorted.
Nissan...best lap 2:03   managed a few more laps and knocked a couple of seconds off..looking more like a contender now        This setup feels very solid and should give more time , but it needs a very different approach in the driving department  Roll Eyes

Others to follow over weekend if the fun warden allows me some time Grin Grin

Update SATURDAY another 30 mins

Tried the Opel  best lap 2:00  Think I'll save the last drive in this big car for another track   surprised because it did not feel that fast and was easy and smooth.
Porsche  best lap 2:02    Not done any more laps with this one either, I need more time to get to grips with that pendulum on the back! felt like it could be quicker if i could get it into the tight corners more neatly.
Mini       best lap 2:04  saving my last drive in this car too  but I was not driving it well and was losing time in a lot of places, so would expect to get around 2:00-2:01 at least

I think I know the track now and where I can push and where it bites back  Wink So, if I get any more practice I would hope to shave tenths off all of those times.
Biggest issue might be tyre life and which car protects them best at racing speed.

The biggest prob for any of the cars looks like the front left tyre, which takes a heck of a pounding through 90% of the corners

Did manage some practice during the weekend.  My times are very close to yours - slower in the Opel, dead on in the Escort and a little quicker in the rest.  All on non-race fuel though, so if yours are with race fuel, and/or if you manage to find a few seconds extra as usual  Wink, you should have nothing to fear from me.   Still undecided on car choice though.

Sorry folks won't be racing tonight or for a while.  Frustrated trying to get GTL to work through steam - various browsers won't do as they're told but for I suspect commercial reason give me unsuitable options.  Too much work around house and garden whilst weather is good to spend more time and energy on GTL problems. Have good race. rockon

Not a great evenings racing for me but I feared that this might be the case. Chose my second fastest car in mid week practise but could never really feel comfortable at this circuit. Could not find a smooth flow and I think my tinkering with the Porsche setup had not improved things as the brakes seemed to be all or nothing. A couple of offs into hard surfaces damaged the suspension and after a lengthy pit stop to get things driveable again I was a lap down on everyone else. Still needed the points so continued on till the end.

Next one is Hungaroring which I loath so I'll waste my last Escort drive there.

First of all ... well done Erling!!  Sneaky move using that BMW but at least you made the most of it  Wink Dimetri was stunningly quick in that Escort, my attempts in that car were up to 5secs a lap slower!!

Postal used that nice Commodore and eased his way through to the podium after Tiberius was DQ'd by the track border guards  Grin

That left me with a better than deserved 4th spot after some hopeless driving at times and prolly the best I could have hoped for.

I could not believe the start I got in the Skyline, it just seemed to leap off the grid with zero wheelspin.  Shocked I just avoided the rear of Tiberius (?) and had to slot my car down the centre of the grid. Before I knew what was happening I was in 2nd spot looking at the rear of a fast disappearing Wiley Coyote in his Beemer.

I knew that I would not match his pace and I also knew that Dimetri and one or two others had more pace than me and would be looking to reclaim their positions very soon. I think I actually did Erling a favour in the early laps by frustrating Dimetri in his quick Escort and allowing a gap to build. The inevitable happened and Dimetri slipped through when I made a small mistake and quickly pulled away.

Then I had the relentless building of pressure from Postal and Tiberius who brought their battle onto my boot lid and I cracked under braking allowing them both through.
The rest of the race was a case of managing the gap back to Geezer who took advantage of some noobie mistakes by me to close the gap before I eased away again.

There was some great racing for me in the early laps, but some poor driving towards the end, none of which really affected my result as that was down to the misfortune of others  Undecided

Well you certainly have my thanks..  Wink

Early on, I fancied the Escort, as it seemed to work well here, and I wasn't significantly quicker in the other cars, bar the Beemer and Mini, and I didn't want to use the latter here.  Cursed the Commodore to no end in early practice, as it seemed like swapping ends under braking was a design parameter..

Initially on-line praccy suggested I could end up somewhere midfield in the Escort, but as people improved their times, I dropped like a rock to the bottom  Shocked   Could perhaps hope for someone screwing up more than me during the race, and maybe gain a position or two, but still a bleak concept.  Better save the Escort for another race then.

Had decided early in the series, that I would only use my precious Beemer drives, if I had an outright shot at winning the race - providing of course that such an opportunity presented itself.  Expected that it would at the very least require Dimetrio's absence, but when he showed up in an Escort, posting laptimes I had matched offline in the Beemer, I made a last-minute decision to use it here.

Wasn't going to be easy though. Managed pole by a couple of 10th, and got a good start, keeping the lead. Early on L1, Clive was behind, but soon replaced by Dimetrio.  Demanded my full concentration to go as quickly as I could, without making too many errors.  Early on, I didn't look at the pit board, as I focused on driving, and didn't need the psychological pressure of seeing a shrinking gap. Eventually curiosity got the better of me, so I had to sneak some peaks  Smiley  Was relieved to see the gap increasing, if ever so slightly.  Stabilized around 10 secs eventually, but Dimetrio kept me on my toes the entire race - the slightest slip, and the gap dropped.

Lonely race after Dimetrio slipped from view, besides the few backmarkers I caught late in the race - thanks for helping me past!

Very happy for my win, and for not having wasted my final Beemer drive, but oh boy, am I gonna miss that wonderful car!  :'(

Grats to the rest of the podium, not least Dimetrio, with unbelievable pace in that Escort! blink

Cheers,
Erling
