Hi Tony,
The track download link drops me somewhere into the car section. If i scroll down i can find Interlagos 1979 V1.1.0.0. Is that the correct one? Thanks.

Sorry guys but that's not the correct track. I'll post a replacement asap.
EDIT: Now the link will provide the correct track.
It should be Interlagos GP and not Interlagos 1979.

It's Erling's Championship and EvilClive looks like a strong contender for the 2nd place spot whilst the battle for 3rd place could go to the wire...............

Well, the Opel seemed the car to be in here - if you couldn't be in a Beemer.. Neither were options for me, and of my available choices, the Porker was the best; it worked well here. Shaved some tenths off my pb in qual, but only good enough for 4th. Much impressed by the pace of Tibernius in another 911. Both Commodores seemed to make rather hesitant starts and thread carefully through the first few corners. Wasn't going to be shy about exploiting that, if possible. Had a look down the inside of Clive at the end of the first straight, but he was well ahead of me going into the curve. However, it looks in replay as if his rear kicked out a little, slowing him and tightening his cornering. Thus I got too close and we touched, sending him into a spin. Very sorry about that. Matt had already made his way through from the back, and apparently finished what I had begun with Clive. I waited and rejoined last. Caught Roger after a few laps and passed him when he had a moment. Next up was Tony. Had some jolly good fun laps dicing with him, swapping places a couple of times. Eventually got past and next caught a spinning Kurt, handing me 5th. Surprised to see Clive not too far up front. Expected him long gone, but guess he must have gone off at some point. He quickly disappeared though. That was about 1/3 through the race, which now turned very lonely. Gaps front and behind kept growing, so didn't see any other cars, except in the distance. Grats to the podium. Hope the incident with Clive hasn't put his 2nd place in the Championship in too much peril Cheers Erling

I suspect that a plain brown envelope changed hands behind the pits just before the race started. I just hope that it was quite thick and that Erling was well compensated. It would be a lie to say that I was not slightly miffed when I was nobbled, but I knew that I would be vulnerable in the Opel for the first lap. When I started practicing with this car, I crashed so often on my out lap that I thought about dropping that option. Once I warmed the tyres and settled it in, the car was just magic and for a big lump it handled the tight bits very well and had huge grunt for the long straights. So, I was trying to be careful on lap 1 and bring the tyres up to temp, before I got too racey. All those good intentions were dumped when I had to try and claw back a 20 second deficit after half a lap!!! The race was basically a damage limitation exercise from then on as I tried to pick off cars ahead. I screwed any chance of catching Tibernius when I did a Hamilton and dropped a gear too soon causing the car to spin. That lost me another 7-8 secs and scuppered any hope of stealing 3rd place. I still have a problem estimating tyre wear in GTL and ended the race with 50% of my rubber still available so maybe I could have pushed harder, but I doubt I would have made up that much difference. Grats to Phspok and Postal and Tibbs for taking the podium slots... and apologies to Eifelblitz for sending him onto the grass on the start finish straight with an ambitious passing move. All goes down to the wire in Abu Dahbi...........and the final car options...oooer

That was a very nice track! Had not been here before and as from paper the layout was not too special, racing here proved to be a nice challenge. Along with its nice long straights, the twisty bits are all with different challenges, radius, crests and camber angles. I was never bored by any bit of this track. I didn't expected that really.
Car selection was a bit of a gamble between the Nissan, Ford and the Opel. Don't do Mini if i have a choice. Opted for the Opel with no particular reason. Remembered the quirks of the Commodore from previous races, so changed the spring rate at the rear and made changes on the diff settings. Now this lump would do something what looked like a corner! This setup looked spot on as in qualy i was shaving off seconds every lap. To my surprise i found myself on the top of the time table.
Race start and Tibernius passed me with his 911 into T1 with a nice move, he got it sideways into T2, so i was able to power back into P1. After some laps i noticed a blue spec in my mirror, which got bigger after every lap. It was Matt in his Beemer. I made all the efforts to make the Commodore as wide as possible, but on his third attempt into T1 he made it stick. Did my best to keep the gap under five seconds, so in case he would mess up... Did myself no favour as i ran onto the curbs at the final turn and floored it a bit to early. Spun and had to restart the engine, no chance of catching Matt now!
@Clive, I had the front tires worn about 50% too. The rears did not show any signs of wear though! Looks like the setup needed some more tweaking.
With car selection getting narrower for all contenders, i suspect we will have a nice close field in Abu Dahbi.

That was fun From my car I magically went through the back of Clive's car with no contact, but the replay says there was... sorry for that I had no where to go when you spun, and although I lifted and tried to jink right It was all a bit tight, I was concentrating on staying on the inside of Erling. I should have been more careful. Had a great chase with Postal, that Opel has some speed on the straights! I was easily able to catch but passing was another story, and after I did, the tyres started to go off and I had a few "moments" myself.

Knew I was not in for a stella evenings racing when I clocked the qualy times being put down by the quick guys; at least 6 secs better than I knew I could do. I had spent a lot of time getting the Nissan "race ready" but how I wish I had concentrated on the Porsche drive instead. So my race was just a formality as I tried to hold up the faster cars who needed to get by me. Then it was many, many laps trying to catch Kurt (impossible) and keep Roger behind me (just). Will be a different story in two weeks time tho................I still have a Beemer drive
