"What Postal  Clive had to do was get enough lead on me so that I wasn't close enough at the beginning of the straight to be able to catch and pass him. "

LOL  my thoughts exactly as I was sat on the grid.  Wink I had tried that Dodge Charger and knew how quick it was down the straight, so I was well aware that the first few laps could screw up my chances if I got jumped and stuck behind a faster. So I drove it like I stole it for the first few laps, then I had to manage the tyres for the second half of the race just cruising around the faster corners and avoiding lighting up the rears with a heavy right foot.

I was watching that battle between Tony and Postal on the leaderboard all through the race and at one point I almost crashed when I realised that Postal was into 2nd and beginning to eat into my nice comfy lead, so I popped in a couple of faster laps just to keep myself awake and safe.

Great to see that there is more of this to come next year  Grin with the yank tanks

That was a nice race to end this series with! Had it  in my mind to run the Charger for this event, however a lack of practice time directed me towards the Roadrunner as I had a setup for this car and I would only had to concentrate on learning the track in qually.

Managed to qualify in 4th position and had a good run off the starting line slotting into 3rd behind the cool looking Charger of Tony. When I found my rhythm and strung some clean laps together I started to close in on Tony. From then on it was like cat and mouse for a number of laps where we swapped positions over and over. Me trying to force the Roadrunner past the Charger in the twisties and Tony waving (and grinning) to me as he roared by on the straight again. Tongue
Finally I had me a small gap to Tony whereby I could manage to keep in front at the end of the straight and noticed that the gap to Evil Clive was huge. So no hopes in catching him. However I still had the silly idea  to try and improve my best lap time and as a result I spun it in the fast esses after T1. Dohhh!!

Tony waving at me again as I restarted the car. Tried to keep him honest for the remaining four laps and sure enough I was about a second off at the final lap. At the back straight Tony pulled a bit of a gap, but I wasn’t letting him get away with it that easy!
Entering the braking zone for the 180 degree T9 I noticed Tony on the normal, wider, racing line. I did not hesitate and released the brakes a bit and pointed it to the inside of the corner. Put it into a 4 wheel slide to scrub off speed and crossed my fingers so I would not torpedo Tony out of the way. The plan almost worked…. It put my Roadrunner right at the rear bumper of Tony’s Charger. Well.. actually into his rearbumper… Darn, that made Tony spin out. Luckily the bump wasn’t too hard and we could both continue to the finish line. Some nice driving Tony!

As said; nice to see these tanks again in the next season!
