This is my ChapF as promised...  Wink
Thanks, will try it out now

EDIT: Set-up worked great, Thanks again!

On a seperate note, Is there a way to adjust the driver's point of view. I had to change the resolution so that I could see the rearview mirror in the Chap 2F, and the whole picture was stretched wider than it should have been.

I enjoyed both races. I had so little practice before hand that I felt like I was just getting warmed up when the races finished. Thanks all! I had a great time. - WC

Hey Walter, if you launch from within GEM+  there is a 'Field of View' section that can be adjusted.
And/or,  if you have a G25/running GPLshift - use the cursor keys to adjust within cockpit view.  Right-arrow pulls right back.

Cheers,
Dave.

I really enjoyed the two races last night, and not only because I stole a win in the GT's  Wink.

Although I had a clear lead over Ronnie in 2nd, it was never enough to give me the "one mistake" cushion that is always nice to have. Ronnie kept the pressure on for the whole race and was only a couple of seconds back, waiting to pounce on any errors I might make.
For me the Mk2 Ford has taken a long time to bring under control, but now I seem to have developed a setup that works well with minor tweaks on most tracks. Just as well, because I needed to maintain a fast pace to keep the lead  as the gap yo-yo'd on each lap.

The Can Am race was equally enjoyable although my poor little porker srtuggled against the huge grunt of the Fezzas out of the slower corners. Almost all of the race was spent watching Mark's rear end..except when he decided to stop sideways on the exit of T2 and show me his handsome profile in extreme close up!!! So I hit him!! only to bounce off and end up facing the wrong way  Undecided
The rest of the race was spent hounding Mark around the twisty bits and hanging on down the straight and closing up under braking to try again but never quite getting a good chance..............great fun  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did.
Grats to all the finishers and to the podium finishers in both races. Incidentally I notice that Ray ( Ronnie) who claimed that he had no interest in the closed wheel cars at the start of this series, is managing to do a very good job of tolerating them!!!  lol.

Thanks Dave, that is exactly what I was looking for. I found that the field of view does not change until I delete the gplcgt file. Then open and close GEM+ to create a new one. My new driver's view is 90 degrees for the Chap 2F.
I have not figured out how to adjust the seating position with GPLshift. It sounds like it would be easier, if I could though. I am using the G27. I tried the arrows keys, but does not seem to change anything.
Many thanks, Walter

I was involved in a stupid heap at T3R and started from the very last place pursuing all the drivers in front of me till the end of the race.

For the 2nd race, just after the qualification section, I was watching the flagman waving his chequered flag but suddenly I noticed that he was no more in motion ...uhm...it seemed very strange to me and ...in fact the problem was not the flagman stopped, it was my PC that was freezing. So after 30 seconds I had to reset my PC and bye bye race.

Mine was a mixed bag.  I'd a well sorted pair of perambulators, with a competitive pace, from which to race.  But once online, these two tidy packages needed more bundling than expected, with each threatening to unravel! Shocked

GT's - I took a wide line through the fast jink, ahead of the dense pack, at the first corner on lap 1.  A green patch in the road put my nose out of line, and a closely following Mirage, put my tail out of line, which created some interesting omni-directional considerations.  After scanning the horizon, I re-encountered the track, and re-selected forwards - leaving the gathering crowd to ponder their own directional options.

With a strangely large gap behind, and 3rd place in the bag, I'd an unexpected handful of Chaparral under my feet.  This allowed several perambulatory deviations, and provided a fourth at the finish.  And I earned every 1960's inch of it!

Can-Am's - similar situation as race 1 - come racetime, the contents did not match the label on the tin.  Short practice session means less time for improvements, so the challenge was, to stew up some performance from my conglomerate, without overcooking it.  Finally wrestled a pole position on the last lap, but it did not sit well.  So I gambled on a small grid adjustment.  This was not a good idea, as my Lola soon started misbehaving.  After a few laps, it got so I couldn't take her anywhere!  Our spat ended, when I wrenched the wheel from my desk, and immediately wrenched a wheel from my car.  we were not amused.  Angry

Looks like plenty of good, honest dicing in both races, with a skillful conglomerate.  When car and driver co-operate, it's quite a sight to see.

Great fun again last night, I just love this series full stop. Grats to everyone who raced.

Its not that I have no interest in the GT's and Can Ams its just that I have little ability in setting them up from scratch. Similar in fact to the F2's and 69x cars. Honestly, I just use the default setups with some tweaking of the gearing and maybe the brake balance. The advantage of this for me is that I don't have to waste too much time on setup practice for Friday racing. Obviously I have a few more cars to test for the F2 series on Sundays. However, If anyone has some setups that they are willing to share for any of the F2, 69x, GT's or Can Ams let me know. The good news for me was the track. I LIKE EDMONTON and the last four races have been kind to me. Having said that I'm surprised at the quality of racing we had last night as my other concern with the GT and Can Am cars has always been the tracks used for them and to be honest I would not have thought Edmonton was suitable. I was wrong. Lets just say I'm warming to them a bit more than I thought I would Clive and that's your fault for organising this excellent series. Hopefully something the same/similar runs next season.

See you all on track soon.
