Moderator's Report

Walter is unable to control car after hitting invisible object.
Whilst the race admins try to check that the 3rd party add-ons to P&G are error free sometimes things get past us.
No blame on Walter and no penalty. Racing Incident.

  • Walter Connadvice — Hits mystery track side object

Goldtop gets his braking all wrong at Mulsanne corner and wallops Johnny X. Definitely Goldtops fault but Johnny has asked that no penalty be given and we respect his wishes. Lucky boy Goldtop!

  • goldtopadvice — Lack of skill at tough corner. Victim has asked for no penalty to be made

cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3 from:  http://gtlw-blog.flyingpig.info/
(4) Watch our for pit lane speeding, some tracks support this.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect
(6) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Being as it was sports cars that were being asked for, I have made this Sports Car finale at Le Mans
I expect everyone will use a GT40 but I have allowed the other options for anyone who might want
something "different".

I have added the Nutter Vette, it is at least as fast down the straight as anything else, but is a pig in the curves/braking/power
I managed 4:05 with a messy lap and I can get down to under 4 with a good lap in the Mk2 or Gulf
It has the glide characteristics of a fridge over the jump at the end of Mulsanne Straight
If someone decide to take it, make sure you have practiced how to limit the flight to less than a minute  Shocked
You are warned!!

It may require a two stop, I will adjust the laps after I have done fuel testing with all the cars.

Had a quick blast in the open top vette last night and it blew up on the outlap before I even got as far as the hump  Cheesy The GT40s get airborne in a very unusual way, even moreso than I remember in 2.1.

I think I'll be taking the RSR at this rate unless one of the 906s is more fun.

The Vette I was using with highest gearing touches 209 and the shift light flickers slightly
I saw no reduction in health after 3 laps. This is the C3 ZL1 Hard Top, there is no open version of it.
I think you were using a lower powered Vette?

Ah yes Matt, it was the open top Vette GS. The race announcement hadn't been made when I tested.

I don`t like VirtuaLM version because of that ridiculous jump ... just watched onboard porsche 936 (i know, i know, downforce car ... ) and this porsche spends almost two seconds on top of that hill which is actually flat, than goes downhill - nothing even remotely like ramp jump ...

...but i think i`ll be there.

Also noticed that p&g v3.1 cars are faster - 3:58 with gulf loaded with fuel like a tanker.

Can anything be done about the gloomy half light in the practice session on the server.

It's of no use what so ever when trying to learn the track/car combination and so doesn't encourage people to go on line.

try the Porsche to learn the track - that's what I am in the process of doing. Maybe we'll get together a group of Porsche drivers for the race as well?

I must say that this track has the most beautiful graphics of all I have ever driven. In particular the catch fencing is un objet d'art - I have studied it closely Wink

This was the track that was requested, if it's causing big problems we can change it. I will be stuck in a hotel next week
but I will admin it to whatever track version is best. I will try another version today if I can, and swap if appropriate.

I have provisionally changed the track to 60's Le Mans due to the way the faster cars are airborne at the hump before Mulsanne
Even the GT40s are too risky. I have set the laps to 13 as XD will not give me any fuel figures for this track.

CLive likes the old one, I don't like VLM tracks much anyway, too much about eye candy and not enough about driveability for me
(exception being Rouen which is superb)

If enough people really want the crash fest VLM 77 version I will (reluctantly) change it back.

Philrob's 60's version is sweet enough but lacks Armco barriers for a lot of the lap so premature visits to Nirvana invite all who dare leave the tarmac.

His 70's version has everything this one has plus Armco so IMO is the better option.
