Moderator's Report

A virtually clean race to finish of the season & nobody needed a Shift R. Quite an achievement in the sand traps at Zandvoort.

Server replay time: 0h01m09s

Piero loses control on the exit from Tarzan & spins. It is not clear if he spins back onto the track or rejoins. By taking a line down the middle of the track at slower speed than the following cars;
Martin Hunt realizes how slowly Piero is moving & brakes hard. He is also boxed in - no options right or left - & taps Piero slightly from behind. Piero appears unharmed but Martin spins off.
Billy moves left to steer around Piero & loses some speed with his outside tyres on the grass. Piero makes up the ground & makes a pass on Billy into Turn 2. Piero has a reasonable amount of overlap but the cars touch (or GPL says they touch). Billy spins off & Piero is, again, unharmed.
We will deal with this a Racing Incident but where drivers lose control in the red zone they should take additional care not to compromise other drivers until they are back to normal racing speed.

THIS POST IS FOR THE LIGHT & HEAVY RACES
The last round of the Formula 2 championship (Race 5!) will be at Zandvoort. This was held over from September. Another Papyrus original but very different to Monza. (Just to confirm again that GPL is a proper sport we won’t be having any stupid rules like double points for the last race).

The circuit was inaugurated on August 7, 1948 and has been through several changes but unlike many of the popular 1960s tracks it has continued to be used for top flight racing and is in regular use today but not for Formula 1.  The last Formula 1 race at Zandvoort was held in 1985 and was won by Niki Lauda ahead of Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.  The 1967 Formula 1 Grand Prix saw the debut of the Ford Cosworth DFV engine, in Jim Clark and Graham Hill's Lotuses.  Jim Clark went on to win the race and post the fastest lap after Graham Hill retired with engine problems after starting the race from pole position.

The Championship Table can be found here F2 Trophy .  We will run two servers but if the numbers are low we can run as a mixed grid.

No handicaps apply everyone has a free choice of chassis.

A maximum of one reset is allowed per race & must be followed by a compulsory Stop & Go in the pit lane within two laps of the Reset. If you Reset on the last lap & cannot take a Stop & Go a 15 second time penalty will be awarded.

Incidents should be reported in the usual way.
In line with other divisions the races will be subject to full moderation in the red zone which will be up to the exit of Shievlak. The Moderator may chose to investigate any other incident, in addition to reported incidents & red zone incidents.

Martin,
The word "Lesmo" in Italian translates as "Schievlak" in Dutch.

"Scheivlak" to be politically correct, or better "Schijtvlek" (will not translate that, may cost me a permaban)  Grin

So, just so that I have this clear.............

This is the last race of the Formula 2 season and there is a Blue Moose masquerading as a red dog with goggles, a Dutch circuit with a partially Italian identity crisis, talk of German speaking reindeer getting involved and the race will start with everyone rushing towards someone called Tarzan in cars that are of Aussie origins?

Based upon this insight can we assume that ............. the race will start two days after it has finished and should be won by a polar bear in drag whilst driving at the rear of the field, racing around Monaco onto which they have grafted the Mulsanne straight?

It can only be Christmas on UKGPL in England.......... Undecided

Guys, if anyone has installed the beautiful new flagmen done by Gammaworx http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=9651&st=15

I advise to reinstall your old flagmen for tonight. It seems blue flags are now yellow or white, and waved yellow flags are white...could give a lot of confusion with lapping and incidents...the not waved yellow flag is correct in his update I think...

Thanks for the heads-up, but FYI yellow flags are completely ignored here. Don't worry about them at all.

Actually we do have rules about yellow flags.  They are published in a few places:
1.  In the Sporting Regulations - look at the bottom of this page.
2.  In the Penalty Guidelines - look under the section about "lack of care approaching an incident" on this page.
3.  The penalties that may be awarded that are associated with yellow flags are detailed on this page.

At UKGPL we have a rule for most things but we try not to be too officious, after all GPL is only a game.  But when something happens that spoils the fun we have to get the rule book out.  Playing by the rules should mean more fun for everyone.

In a way your all right, Robert, Dean and Phil  Roll Eyes

Mosport Season 24 F2 series.

Ronnie's rejoins after the incident - he keeps tight to the left & all the following cars which got caught up in this really should have taken greater notice of the waved yellow flags. Ronnie did not noticeably pause to check the track was clear. The corner obscured the following cars from view but more care could have been taken.
The following driver's are technically due a caution for failing to abide by yellow flags - but this report is long enough already.
•Ronniepeterson (Ronnie Peterson) — warning — Inconsiderate rejoin
