Yep, this is usually more about finishing than outright pace
pick a car and setup that you can handle easily

somewhat miffed about Bathurst.  Undecided

Thursdays is always a bit time sensitive, but i got myself sat in frpnt of the PC with a good 15mins in hand. feeling reasonably confident that i can muscle the Falcon around this track after a good session on the time trial last weekend.

So,     hit the PnG button........Internet..........find the Bathurst server.......and track not installed!!!  Wot??!!  oh yes it is !!   back out to C: and check PnG for Locations..............duh??!!  no Bathurst...check GTL and even GTR2  not a sign of Bathurst anywhere!!    Ok Downlaod again and install, there is still time.

OK installed, so fire up PnG and Crash to Desktop as soon as I click Bathurst server.......ok keep calm and reboot PC.........7mins to go I reckon before race starts........ finally get onto lobby, enter the server and select car etc...load setup....... out for a lap...Huh?? no mirror?Huh This could be dodgy on such a narrow track. Where the hell do I turn mirror on?Huh  press all buttons  and keys.....no mirror??  hmmmmmm??

Sitting in garage and quali ends and Arnold has still not found a mirror. But Ok I was never going to be at the front anyway..and I might be just quick enough not to get lapped so try and if it starts getting hairy we quit.  Not a chance!! as soon as the "grid" thingy comes up I am kicked off the server, presumably because the scrutineers discovered I did not have a mirror!  :

Maybe it was because everything was upside down in Aussi land??

Those awesome P&G micrometre accurate physics yet again leave me gob-smacked. How a Falcon managed to do what it did tonight could only ever happen in zero gravity. What a croc.

Results and replay Posted

was really enjoying that, even if I did spin myself to the back of the grid.was having some good chases
with Alex/Legzy/Postal/Dan. but my throttle pot seems to be faulty, the engine would keep losing revs
then suddenly going full power  Shocked not the best way to get round The mountain jumping around
in true Kangaroo style... Just taken the peddle board apart, and the pots look like poxy carbon track!
10k I assume Linear. I shall be replacing those with some conductive plastic soonest, have cleaned them
up with WD40 and it seems ok for the moment, but they won't last.

Unofficial LapChart

Great race! Did not expected close racing for almost the entire race with some of the faster guys (Legzy, Matt, WT, Postal).. well, actually they were trying to get around the C2 whilst I desperately trying to keep it on the road  sweatdrop
Good stuff and fair fightin'

Congrats to the Italians.. I wasn't even lapped; you are losing your touch guys  Wink

Good result again for me, although a fairly lonely race.

Once again the Italian contingent were just too fast for me, kept pace for the first couple of laps until they got into their stride & disappeared over the horizon. Had Ed close behind early on but he dropped back & then retired which left me with a 6-7s gap back to Clive. Stayed like that for many laps until Clive disappeared leaving me in a comfortable 4th place. Well pleased to get to the end with just one slight brush with the wall.  Grin

Congrats to Giuseppe, Federico & Otto.  clap clap clap

Yup, that was entertaining. I did some practice with the Vette earlier, only to find it would bite me in the ass if I just looked at the throttle. Not a good thing on this track.
Had to install a new modem/router from my ISP so I could just make qualy in time. Last minute decision to chicken out and select a Ford Falcon. Felt a lot better, but I wasn’t setting record times with it, that’s a lack of practice for you.
At the start bumped a stationary Falcon in front (don’t know who) but luckily no real damage was done. Then had some good scraps with Alex, Matt and Legzy. All off them finally found a way through at some point. Congrats to the mob btw.

I better make sure I am better prepared for Dubai. Oh wait… Porsche fest?…teammate = MJ ?… Should be good! Tongue

Embarrassed Embarrassed I was the stationary car Postal, please accept my apologies,  I was distracted at home and I hope it did not spoil your race.   All went well for several laps but I forgot to check the oil at the start resulting in a smokescreen and explosion around lap ten. Ah well......next week.

There is a things that you must learn no other way than a hard way!  taz

In my case it was not to take it easy too much because level of concetration drops and you make mistakes out of nowhere. It was too early to stop shadowing Geoffers while still have good tyres and, because of that, i made stupid mistake.

btw Matt ... wasn`t able to jump over the wall but I was good enough to park my Falcon upside down ... any points for artistic impression for that?

LOL

I was just wondering how on earth I was going to get past you when you kindly put it on its roof!   Grin

Not that it did me any good as I suffered my third disconnection of the season.

Currently in discussion with my ISP.   Roll Eyes

Well I beat your upside down only, I did a triple salchow followed by an inverted flip onto and then off a wall.
And the judges (hard types these Aussies) gave me 3  :'(
