Wot Non Evil Clive said.
the really good pitstoppers like Legzy have it off to a fine art.
My advice would be don't get any "how to do a pit-stop" advice from MJ!
I used to love the old days of him being a fraction quicker than me round the track overall (arguably/maybe), but we'd usually get at least two good fights per race as I'd pit in about 5-10 secs less than him (though I do nothing special) laugh

p.s. not sure he found it as funny as me, so I thought I'd mention it angel

Really? Didn't know that. How do you work it?

I forget what the default key is (I've mine mapped to my button box), but once you find it, then it's cursor keys to change your selection. Handy to turn off repairs immediately after you get knocked, as I always forget to do it by the time the pitstop comes around!

Tip - pick a long straight to do it on, as it can be quite distracting Grin

If you have XD (www.vitumo.de) installed, you can change your pit options (including tyres & repairs) during the race.

Really? Didn't know that. How do you work it?

You press \ , that cycles through the options. Its handy at the race start if you know what you plan to do with your tyres at the pitstop, you can set it up while sat waiting on the grid. I usually avoid using it while driving as I would probably end up off the road  Roll Eyes

I have to try this. Features that before were unknown to me. Thanks Guy's.

The cause of many a mishap here  laugh

Note also that GTL doesn't support this feature unfortunately.

"Race: 20:40 12 Laps (~ 50mins)"  ?

Don't think that adds up somehow.

Copy of previous event. I still have some finishing work to do on the pages.
Set to 25 laps, that seems about right. I may adjust slightly when I figure out accurate times.

Hopefully I'll be making my return to PnG@SROUK in this race. Work commitments on Thursdays are diminishing and it gives me a week or so to learn to drive with recently acquired G27. See you all in Sunny Spain.

is the release of future events in this series a secret intentionally or just that they are not known?  Bit hard to choose a car based on one round without knowing I might want to use it elsewhere. Quite happy if its intentional as stops everyone picking best cars for each track I suppose!
In my humble opinion there is such a vast performance and handling difference between the set of cars offered that I can predict mayhem !  A GT40 and an RSR heading into T1 will have vastly different braking points alone, hence why im not keen on wildly different cars all grouped together unless they are achieving multi-class points.

I haven't had a chance to try any of these cars out yet at Barcelona (though think ive used a few at other events here in the past) and I really need to get some laps in. helpsmilie
Be very useful if some ball-park lap times could be posted up for the various cars to cut down the amount of practise time in different cars everyone has to do.  angel
ouch, also just seen there is a stop and 2x fuel involved...makes testing all the combos even more time consuming! Guess this is where the big teams win as they can test more possibilities than us lone runners & small teams.

I think that the range is beyond everyone.

Our tester took one look at the permutations then ran away and switched his phone off.  (Sorry Erik, not entirely true.)  He has responded to requests.   Grin

Well....

This series is carefully crafted to put the pressure on the drivers rather than the poor underpaid servant who
has to go out in the snow to get the firewood (cars/tracks/times) only to be kicked like a mangy cur
when all he wanted was to be a shining example of selfless dedication to the sport. blink blink

Cough, where did that come from !  Huh

It's ok, I'm back now. smartass

The reason that there were no more events posted (yet) was because I hadn't got round to it

Edit:
I agree, you can't choose cars sensibly unless you know all the tracks, so....

All tracks are now listed in the Championship page.
The full event pages will be done soon...

There are:
4x Very fast tracks, 4x Medium , and 4x slower/tighter tracks
And pitstops are only at half the events

There are 12 Events, and 15 cars, so there will be a choice of 4 cars at the last event.
The Le Mans Finale is the "revived" version, and (force field on) it's the one with the chicanes
After the way the last one turned out I have no choice.

Rough guide to track Pace and which events have Pit Stops:

Faster: Barcelona (Stop); Paul Ricard PTT;  Spa 2007(Stop); Le Mans revived (Stop);

Medium: Melbourne (Albert Park);  Imola (Stop);  Interlagos (Probably Later version);   Mexico 67;

Slower: Hungaroring 2003(Stop);   Keimola;   Portimao (Stop);  Albi 2009;

Cars allowed: GT40 Gulf, GT40 MKII, GT40 MK1, 906 -6/8, 906 - All except 6/8, Pantera Modena, Pantera BOSS
911 RSR 3.0, 911 RSR 2.8, Porche 914, Cobra 427, Daytona Coupe, Ferrari 275 Speciale, Corvette Grand Sport
Lotus Elan.

Chortle, To be fair Stig, I set a challenge without all the information required.
But now there is enough info to plan your campaign  tank

If any of the tracks pose a problem with stops, the management reserves the right to move a stop to a different event.
