I think the answer is yes.

it looks like the 906/8 is being treated separately from the rest of the 906's for the purposes of removing it if everyone takes it - hence the 'knock out' bit. So, for this race at least, yes it is available.

You can choose any car in the list.

I have split the 906 into 2 choices

1: Any 906 except -8
2: 906-8

So a "906" will have two lives, you can take any of them tonight

Just finished beating my head on the wall!!

Started pretty much at the back of the grid but picked up a couple of places as others experimented with the blade heights on their mowing machines. As the race progressed I eased myself up to around 8th place I think as other cars made pitstops or mistakes. I used hard tyres to give me the rubber to go 3/4 distance and fuel and gears  to match.
I had my pit stop all planned out and was going for enough juice for the final 10 laps and some nice grippy medium tyres.

I got into the pits and bullied my way into my pitstall...after some faffing with the wrong key ( keyboard key not ignition key, well it was the ignition key but it was on my keyboard  wacko) turned the engine off and the fuel went in. Then Arnold and Mable Glutbucket sprang into action. Mable wielding an air wrench just like a pole dancer with arthritis almost took my eye out and Arnold dropped his bi-focals and could not get find his nuts. Well at his age what can you expect?
Eventually the tyres were on and...........ummmm...........and?........ ummmmmm..............oh yes! start the engine!!!   Oh Sh*t!! which key was it??  !!!!  Was it "I" for ignition........nope.......uhhh?    "S" for starter?  nope!!    After pounding every key on the keyboard I got out of the car and tripped over Arnold who was bent double still looking for his nuts. As I stormed into the back of the garage, not in the best of humours, I threw my helmet at the wall and missed, it hit Mable's ample bosom and bounced back catching me just above my right ear and rendering me unconscious.

When I woke up there was a piece of paper stuck on my overalls ...............with the message.......

Next time press the ruddy "X" key you muppet!!!!

Apologies to Legzy. I hadn't expected the Panterra to go that sideways. oops
No worries, cheers for waiting & the apology though.
Was a bit of a shame, as I didn't have the pace of the guys who went on to finish ahead of me, but I don't think they could have got past with the extra power I was packing Undecided. Still pretty pleased to be first non-Pork Cool

p.s. Wow! Not just the Oldies above the Soggy Bottoms, even the Legends are ahead. Rare short lives times I'm sure, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Great post EvilClive, made me chuckle  laugh sounds like one of my normal pitstops  Grin

Great race that, really enjoyed it and felt like an endurance event with pitstops and different strategies  Smiley

Qualied well, setting new PBs and sitting behind the alien front rows. Smiley
Race start showed I really need to practise and improve my starts because despite keeping the car at ideal revs, I was gazumped by about 4 cars within the first 50metres  Roll Eyes
Spent most of my race in the top 8 and enjoyed a few short battles. Ed was my closest rival running about 5 secs behind upto lap 15 when I made my stop.
The pitstop went very smoothly, all done in 38 secs and I felt chuffed until I remembered my strategy - I hadn't wanted to take tyres onboard as my meds were in good condition!...my ace master stroke to gain places became a lost place or two  Roll Eyes but still slick for fuel and tyres.
To compound my woe I caught seniordan on the lap before Eds stop and it cost me 2 seconds behind him and I watched Ed emerge from the pit lane just a few hundred feet ahead  taz   Ed was on softs and soon pulled out a gap in the last few laps.
Finished a decent 6th or 7th, not sure which as the leader decided to blow his engine on the sf straight and I couldn't see a thing through the smoke until I hit his car further down the straight after crossing the line(please don't do that in future!!..others are still racing) don't know if Ed hit him also but he came up as a DNf at the end  Undecided

Congrats to the Italian podium  Cool

Felt good about this combo and was pretty optimistic about it all.

Just before the race, I picked a 911 with Firestone tires, and that was clearly a mistake. I had a little more grip, but unlike the Dunlop mediums, these tires couldn't last a full race . So instead of a possible 4.5 sec pit stop, I spent 25 secs there.

Got back in in the middle of the grid, but somehow driving errors kept sneaking up on me.  I dropped further and further down the grid, and my lack of focus finally got me so pis... that I left early to cool down by the use of a Tuborg :- ))

Glad to hear that Arnold and Mable haven't been pensioned off yet.

Have they put in a wage claim to cover their extra duties in PnG?

I've been through the replay, and Ed had not been lapped, MJ had and so finished just behind Otto when Otto crossed the line to finish
Ed was in front of Otto and pulled over at T1, but needed to complete the lap he was on to finish the race.
Not sure if it was fuel, or he just thought with the little chequered flag appearing that he had finished?
The little flag just means the leader has finished, you need to see the Race Over banner before your race is finished.   Huh

I enjoyed my race in the GT40. No match for the top gun Porsches, but I managed to compete with a handful of other Porsches further down the grid. I had calculated that (barring mass accidents) the best place that I could finish was around P10. I was in that position two laps from the finish, and then John and someone else disappeared in quick succession. That allowed me to cross the line in P8, so I received a nice bonus.

On a side note, my first ever pit stop in P&G worked flawlessly. I changed tyres and didn't need to take on any fuel, since I worked out that starting with the full 159L was enough for the race.

EDIT: On a side note......bye, bye Porsche RSR3.0 Grin
